Phiwaba Madokwe
Piaba Madokwe (born Phiwaba Madokwe) is a South African politician who served as Member of the National Assembly for the Economic Freedom Fighters from October 2020 until August 2023. Madokwe had previously served as the secretary-general of the EFF Student Command. Career In June 2015, Madokwe was elected secretary-general of the student command of the Economic Freedom Fighters. In March 2019, Madokwe was announced as a parliamentary candidate of the EFF for the 2019 general election. She was not elected to parliament at the election in May 2019. In July 2019, Muzi Khozi succeeded her as secretary-general. She was elected to the EFF's central command team, the party's highest-decision making body, in December 2019. On 22 October 2020, Madokwe entered the National Assembly as a replacement for Peter Keetse. Economic Freedom Fighters
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is a South African left-wing to far-left pan-Africanist and Marxist–Leninist political party. It was founded by expelled former African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) President Julius Malema, and his allies, in 2013. Malema is President of the EFF, heading the Central Command Team which serves as the central structure of the party. It is currently the third-largest party in both houses of the Parliament of South Africa, South African Parliament. 2019 South African General Election
General elections were held in South Africa on 8 May 2019 to elect a new President, National Assembly and provincial legislatures in each province. These were the sixth elections held since the end of apartheid in 1994 and determined who would become the next President of South Africa. Incumbent President Cyril Ramaphosa led the ruling African National Congress, with the party attempting to retain its majority status and secure Ramaphosa a full term in office as president; his predecessor, Jacob Zuma, resigned from office on 14 February 2018. The National Assembly is the directly elected house of the Parliament of South Africa, located in Cape Town, Western Cape. It consists of four hundred members who are elected every five years using a party-list proportional representation system where half of the members are elected proportionally from nine provincial lists and the remaining half from national lists so as to restore proportionality. The National Assembly is presided over by a Speaker, assisted by a Deputy Speaker. Phuti Peter Keetse is a South African politician who served as a Member of the National Assembly for the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) from 2019 to 2020. He was the president of the party's student organisation and a FeesMustFall activist. Background Keetse was born in Sekhung village in Limpopo. He has a BTech in Civil Engineering from the University of Johannesburg. He was active in #FeesMustFall protests that occurred at the university. Julius Sello Malema (born 3 March 1981) is a South African politician and activist who is a Member of Parliament and the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), a left-wing party which he founded in 2013.
