Phir Wahi Talash
''Phir Wahi Talash'' is a television show by director Lekh Tandon broadcast on Doordarshan in 1989–1990. The show's theme ghazal ''Mere humsafar mere saath tum'', ''Kabhi haadson ki dagar mile kabhi muskilon ka safar mile'' was quite popular. This iconic ghazal 'Mere Humsafar mere Saath tum....' is sung by Shobhana Rao, an accomplished and talented ghazal and light music singer in New Delhi, India. Synopsis The show is a love story between a well-to-do girl Padma (Poonam Rehani Sarin) and Ashwini Kumar, a boy from a poor family who is studying to be a doctor. Ashwini's neighbor ( Himani Shivpuri, in a brief role) likes him, whereas Padma has a strict father who is against the relationship and even gets her married to Sagar (Rakesh Kapoor). As Sagar(Rakesh Kapoor) is shown a person who had the modern thinking he lets go his wife to her love and sets her free. Lekh Tandon
Lekh Tandon (13 February 1929 – 15 October 2017) was an Indian filmmaker and actor. He had directed numerous Bollywood movies and Indian TV Serials. He gained national fame due to success of his directorial ventures Professor (1962 film), Prince (1969 film), Ek Baar Kaho and Agar Tum Na Hote. His films Amrapali starring Vyjanthimala and Agar Tum Na Hote with Rajesh Khanna in the lead role are considered as classics. Later after 2000, he had acted in movies such as Swades, Rang De Basanti, Chennai Express and Chaarfutiya Chhokare. He was the brother of Urdu playwright Yograj Tandon. Biography Lekh's father, Faqeer Chand Tandon, had studied with Prithviraj Kapoor at Khalsa High School (Faisalabad, Lyallpur, Punjab, British India), and had been friends. DD National (formerly DD1) is a state-owned public entertainment television channel in India. It is the flagship channel of Doordarshan, India's public service broadcaster, and the oldest and most widely available terrestrial television channel in India. Neelima Azeem (born 2 December 1958) is an Indian actress, classical dancer, writer and the mother of actors Shahid Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter. She is known in India for her roles in television shows. Early life Neelima Azeem's father was Anwar Azeem, a Marxist journalist and Urdu author from Bihar, and her mother, Khadija, was a relative of Khwaja Ahmad Abbas. Arun Bali (23 December 1942 – 7 October 2022) was an Indian actor who has worked in numerous films and television series. He played the part of King Porus in the 1991 period drama ''Chanakya (TV series), Chanakya'', Kunwar Singh in the Doordarshan soap opera ''Swabhimaan'' and the Chief Minister of undivided Bengal, Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy, in the controversial and critically acclaimed 2000 film ''Hey Ram''.
