Phillip Shead
Phillip Shead is a former professional rugby league footballer who played for Paris Saint-Germain Rugby League, Paris Saint-Germain and represented both New Zealand Māori rugby league team, New Zealand Māori and France national rugby league team, France. Playing career Shead was a Northcote Tigers junior along with his younger brother; Artie Shead, Artie. In 1992 he represented the New Zealand under-15 side. He went on to represent both Auckland rugby league team, Auckland and Taranaki rugby league team, Taranaki alongside his brother. In 1996 he played in the Super League for the French club Paris Saint-Germain Rugby League, Paris Saint-Germain. He represented New Zealand Māori rugby league team, New Zealand Māori in three "tests" in 1999 and on a tour of France in 2003. On the French tour he played against his brother, who by then had gained French residency. Paris Saint-Germain Rugby League, commonly known as Paris Saint-Germain () and familiarly as PSG Rugby League or PSG RL, was a French professional rugby league club founded in 1995, and based in the city of Paris in France. The club was the rugby league department of Paris Saint-Germain until 1997. PSG Rugby League played in the highest tier of European rugby league football, the Super League.
