Phillip Read
Phil Read (born 20 October 1979) is a former Australian rules footballer for the Australian Football League, AFL's West Coast Eagles and Melbourne Football Club. Read was educated at Wesley College, Perth. West Coast Eagles Drafted by the Eagles, Read kicked 12 goals in 21 games in his rookie season. During the "Western Derby, Demolition Derby" in Round 21, 2000, Read was struck numerous times during an attempted fight with Fremantle Football Club, Fremantle's Dale Kickett. This started a melee involving a number of players which led to Kickett being suspended for a total of 9 weeks and Read for two with a hefty fine for multiple wrestling offences. Persistent injury problems forced him to miss the entire 2001 and 2002 seasons before returning in 2003 to play 11 games before being delisted at the end of the season. The East Fremantle Football Club, nicknamed the Sharks, is an Australian rules football club playing in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW). The Sandringham Football Club, nicknamed The Zebras, is an Australian rules football club based in Melbourne which was formed in 1929 and plays in the Victorian Football League (VFL) which was formerly called the Victorian Football Association (VFA). History The Sandringham Football Club was admitted to the VFA competition (now VFL) for the 1929 season, though the first moves to establish a semi-professional football team from the Sandringham region began two years earlier. Dale Kickett
Dale Mathew Kickett (born 4 May 1968) is a former Australian rules footballer. Kickett played for Fitzroy Lions, West Coast Eagles, St Kilda Saints, Essendon Bombers, and Fremantle Dockers, all being between 1990 - 2002. Kickett holds the shared record for most clubs that a single player has been in. Early career Originally from Western Australia, Kickett is related to a number of other high-profile AFL footballers, including Derek Kickett (a cousin of Dale's father) and Lance "Buddy" Franklin (Dale's first cousin). Kickett began his football career in the Avon Football Association in 1984, whilst living in the small country town of Tammin. He later moved to Perth and played three games at under 19s level with Swan Districts in 1987.
