Philipstown, Northern Cape
Philipstown is a town in the eastern Karoo region of South Africa. Town 56 km north-east of De Aar. It was established in May 1863 on the farm Rietfontein and became a municipality in August 1876. Philipstown is a town located in the western part of Putnam County, New York, United States. The population was 9,831 at the 2020 census. History In 1697 Adolphus Philipse, a wealthy Province of New York landowner and merchant, purchased a tract from Dutch traders which received British Royal sanction as the ''Highland Patent''. Daingean (; or ), formerly Philipstown, named after King Philip II of Spain, is a small town in east County Offaly, Ireland. It is situated midway between the towns of Tullamore and Edenderry on the R402 regional road. The town of Daingean had a population, as of the 2016 census, of 1,077.
