Philip, also Phillip, is a male given name, derived from the Greek (''Philippos'', lit. "horse-loving" or "fond of horses"), from a compound of (''philos'', "dear", "loved", "loving") and (''hippos'', "horse"). Philippos Constantinos
ONE is a boy band that first appeared in 1999, recognized as both Greece and Cyprus's first boy band. The band was formed by leading Cypriot-Greek composer Giorgos Theofanous and Minos EMI A&R Manager Vangelis Yannopoulos. Constantinos Christophorou and Philippos-Constantinos Philippou were on board quite early, chosen by Giorgos Theofanous. The next three members were picked up after a selective audition that took place in legendary Athenian Sierra Studio. The selecting committee consisted of Natalia Germanou, Posidonas Yannopoulos, Andreas Kouris, Themis Georgandas, Theofanous and Yannopoulos. Demetres Koutsavlakis, Argyris Nastopoulos and Panos Tserpes were retained among 179 candidates. Christoforou followed a solo career in 2003, and was replaced by another Cypriot singer, Demos Beke. Philippos Syrigos
Philippos Syrigos ( el, Φίλιππος Συρίγος; 1948 – 13 October 2013) was a Greek investigative journalist and sports reporter who investigated doping cases in Greece. He was assaulted by masked men on 18 October 2004 in Athens but recovered. Syrigos worked for a Greek daily newspaper ''Eleftherotypia''. During the 2004 Olympics, he reported on the doping scandal of Kostas Kenteris and Katerina Thanou. He later claimed that he was aware of the alleged accident two hours before it happened. He has also written about hooliganism, the Paranga scandal, debts incurred by some of the Greek football clubs and other dealings connected to 2004 Olympics in Athens.
