The women's national 3x3 team of the Philippines represents the country in international 3x3 (basketball), 3x3 basketball matches and is controlled by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas. History In multi-sport Asian tournaments (2009–2016) One of the Philippines' initial participation in women's 3x3 was at the 3x3 basketball at the 2009 Asian Youth Games, 2009 Asian Youth Games in Singapore where it managed to advance from the preliminary round only to lose to South Korea in the quarterfinal. Samahang Basketbol Ng Pilipinas
The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas () or the SBP is the national sport association for basketball in the Philippines, formed from the merging of the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP) and Pilipinas Basketball (PB). It was formed in order to fix a long running feud in Philippine Basketball that resulted in FIBA suspending the country from participating in FIBA-sanctioned events. Both groups signed a joint communique during the FIBA Congress in Saitama, Japan in September 2006. Manuel V. Pangilinan, chairman of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company, and owner of the PBA teams TNT Tropang Giga, Meralco Bolts and NLEX Road Warriors was named as the first president of the organization on February 5, 2007, up until August 8, 2016. The 2022 FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup was the fifth edition of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup. The games of the final tournament were held in Singapore between 6 July and 10 July 2022. Participating teams The FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup returns for its fifth edition this year and will see 53 teams from 30 countries battling it out to win the trophy. The 2019 FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup was the fourth edition of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup. The games of the final tournament were held in Changsha, China between 24 May and 26 May 2019. Participating teams The FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup has a men's and women's tournament, each contested by twelve national teams. The teams were drawn into their groups as per their FIBA 3x3 Federation Ranking as of March 1, 2019. The 2016 FIBA 3x3 World Championships, hosted by China, was an international 3x3 basketball event that featured separate competitions for men's and women's national teams. The tournament was run between 11 and 15 October 2016, in Guangzhou outside the Tianhe Sport Complex. It was co-organized by the FIBA. Host selection On May 10, 2015, FIBA announced the Guangzhou as host city of the 2016 tournament. The 2014 FIBA 3x3 World Championships, hosted by Russia, was an international 3x3 basketball event that feature separate competitions for men's and women's national teams. The tournament was run from 5 June to 8 June 2014 in Moscow. It is co-organized by the FIBA. Qatar won their first title after defeating the defending champions Serbia 18–13 in the men's final. In the women's it was the defending champions USA that defeated Russia 15-8.
