Philippe Lambert
Baron Philippe Lambert (March 1930 – September 2011) was a Belgian banker and art collector, of the Bank Brussels Lambert banking dynasty, and the husband of fellow art collector Baroness Marion Lambert. He was born in March 1930, the son of Baron Henri Lambert (1887–1933) and Johanna von Reininghaus (1899–1960). He was the great-grandson of Baron James Mayer de Rothschild and the great-great-grandson of Samuel Lambert, who in 1840 established the family-owned Banque Lambert. Banque de Bruxelles and Banque Lambert merged in 1974, to form Banque Bruxelles Lambert, which was one of the largest banks in Belgium. He had a brother Leon Lambert, also a banker and art collector (1928/29–1987), and a sister Lucy, based in Brussels. Personal life He married Patricia Harris (born 1932), and they divorced in 1973. Marion Lambert
Baroness Marion Lambert (1943 – 28 May 2016) was a Swiss art collector, and the wife of Baron Philippe Lambert of the Bank Brussels Lambert banking dynasty. She was described as "one of the first collectors and patrons of contemporary photography". Early life Marion Lambert was born Marion de Vries in 1943, into a prominent Swiss family of Dutch descent. She was raised in Geneva. Art collector Lambert has been called "one of the first collectors and patrons of contemporary photography". In a November 2004, she sold her entire collection of about 300 photographs mostly from the 1980s, entitled ''Veronica's Revenge'', at Phillips de Pury in Chelsea, New York for a total of $9.2 million. Her original intention was for the collection to hang in the new headquarters of Bank Brussels Lambert in Geneva, but the directors found the works "simply too shocking". James Mayer De Rothschild
James Mayer de Rothschild, Baron de Rothschild (born Jakob Mayer Rothschild; 15 May 1792 – 15 November 1868) was a German- French banker and the founder of the French branch of the Rothschild family. Early life James de Rothschild was born in Frankfurt-am-Main, then part of the Holy Roman Empire. He was the fifth son and youngest child of Mayer Amschel Rothschild (1744–1812) and Guttle Schnapper (1753–1849). Samuel Lambert (15 June 1806 – 9 April 1875) was a French-born Belgian banker of Alsatian Jewish descent. He was an agent of de Rothschild Frères in Belgium. In 1830, he joined his father-in-law Lazare Richtenberger, who had already served as the Rothschild's agent in Brussels.
