Philipa Idogho
Philipa Idogho is a Nigerian academic administrator, who was rector of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi Edo State. between 2008 and 2016. She was the first female rector of the institution and has been noted to have played a significant role in improving academic capacities and institutionalizing responsibility within the school during her reign. Early life and education Idogho is an alumnus of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State. She has a master's degree in Educational management from University of Benin, and a doctorate in educational administration from Ambrose Alli University. Career From 2008 to 2016, Idogho was rector of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi Edo State. Her system of governance in ensuring a serene school environment have caused her to be criticized among some stakeholders in the school. Auchi Polytechnic
Auchi Polytechnic is a Federal Polytechnic in Auchi, Edo State, Nigeria. It is one of the first four Polytechnics established in Nigeria. It has over 10,000 students enrolled in business, technology, environmental and arts courses. History Auchi Polytechnic was founded in 1963, first as a technical college which was a gift of the British government to the then Mid-Western Region, Nigeria, Midwestern Region. It offered courses only up to the Ordinary Diploma level in limited areas of engineering and business. By the seventies, there was a need for skilled manpower at a higher level and in many more disciplines. Ambrose Alli University (AAU) is a state-owned university in Edo State, Nigeria. It was established in 1981 by the governor of Bendel State (now Edo and Delta States), Ambrose Folorunsho Alli. Initially known as Bendel State University, subsequently known as Edo State University, and finally changed to its present name in commemoration of professor Ambrose Folorunsho Alli, AAU is accredited and recognized by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
