Philip Mendoza
Montague Philip Mendoza (October 14, 1898 – 1973) was a London-born British artist and cartoonist. He served as a private with the British Army from 1914 until 1920. After the World War I and during World War II, he became a popular poster designer. In 1951, he became a comic artist. Anthropomorphism is the attribution of human traits, emotions, or intentions to non-human entities. It is considered to be an innate tendency of human psychology. Personification is the related attribution of human form and characteristics to abstract concepts such as nations, emotions, and natural forces, such as seasons and weather. Both have ancient roots as storytelling and artistic devices, and most cultures have traditional fables with anthropomorphized animals as characters.
