Phil Collins
Philip David Charles Collins (born 30 January 1951) is an English singer, musician, songwriter, record producer and actor. He was the drummer and lead singer of the rock band Genesis and also has a career as a solo performer. Between 1982 and 1990, Collins scored three UK and seven US number-one singles as a solo artist. When his work with Genesis, his work with other artists, as well as his solo career is totalled, he had more US top 40 singles than any other artist during the 1980s. His most successful singles from the period include "In the Air Tonight", "Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)", " One More Night", and "Another Day in Paradise". Genesis (band)
Genesis are an English rock band formed at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, in 1967. The band's most commercially successful line-up consisted of keyboardist Tony Banks, bassist/guitarist Mike Rutherford and drummer/singer Phil Collins. The 1970s line-up, featuring singer Peter Gabriel and guitarist Steve Hackett, was among the pioneers of progressive rock. The group were formed by five Charterhouse pupils, including Banks, Rutherford, Gabriel, and Anthony Phillips, and named by former Charterhouse pupil Jonathan King, who arranged for them to record several singles and their debut album ''From Genesis to Revelation'' in 1968. After splitting from King, the band began touring, signed with Charisma Records and became a progressive rock band on ''Trespass'' (1970). Phil Collins (baseball)
Philip Eugene Collins (August 27, 1901 – August 14, 1948) was a professional baseball player. He was a right-handed pitcher over parts of eight seasons (1923, 1929–1935) with the Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies and St. Louis Cardinals. For his career, he compiled an 80–85 record in 292 appearances, most as a relief pitcher, with a 4.66 earned run average and 423 strikeouts. As a hitter, Collins posted a .193 batting average (93-for-482) with 45 runs, 4 home runs and 44 RBI. He was used as a pinch hitter 13 times in his major league career. Collins was born and later died in Chicago of cancer at the age of 46. He was in baseball known as "Fidgety Phil", which was also inscribed on his gravestone at Holy Cross Cemetery and Mausoleums in Calumet City, Cook County, Illinois. Philip James Collins (born 16 May 1967) is a British journalist, academic, banker and speechwriter. Education Collins was educated at Bury Grammar School, since 1976 an independent school for boys in the market town of Bury in Greater Manchester, followed by the University of Birmingham, Birkbeck College (a constituent college of the University of London), and St John's College at the University of Cambridge. Career Collins spent several years as an equity strategist in investment banking. Phil Collins (born 1970) is an English artist and Turner prize nominee. He is mainly known for video art, often featuring teenagers. A prominent example of his work is ''They Shoot Horses'' (2004), consisting of two videos, each lasting seven hours, and shown at the same time on different walls. Philip Kenneth Collen (born 8 December 1957) is an English musician who is best known as the co-lead guitarist for the rock band Def Leppard, joining the band in 1982 during the recording of the ''Pyromania'' album. Prior to joining Def Leppard, Collen had performed with a number of bands in the burgeoning British glam metal scene.
