The Philadelphia Little Flyers are a USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier III junior ice hockey team from Aston, Pennsylvania. They play in the South Conference of the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) at the IceWorks Skating Complex The players, ages 16–20, carry amateur status under junior A guidelines and hope to earn a spot on higher levels of junior hockey in the United States and Canada, Canadian major junior, collegiate, and eventually professional teams. History The Little Flyers were one of the six charter members for the Atlantic Junior Hockey League (AJHL) in 2003 after previously having Tier III Junior B teams in the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League. They played in every season of the AJHL until 2013 when Tier III junior hockey leagues were reorganized and the AJHL was re-branded as the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). Aston Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania
Aston Township is a township in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 16,592 at the 2010 census. History Aston was first settled in 1682 as a municipality and was incorporated as a township in 1688 (one of the first townships in Pennsylvania). Prior to 1687, Aston was known as Northley. Edward Carter, who was the constable of the township, changed the name from Northley to Aston in remembrance of his old home of Aston in Oxfordshire, England. In 1906, Aston became a first class township. The current boundaries of Aston were established in 1945 when the northwestern portion of the township seceded to form the borough of Chester Heights. In colonial times, Concord Road was the main road between Chadds Ford on Brandywine Creek and Chester, Pennsylvania. They originally played at the Bowie Ice Arena in Bowie, Maryland, from 2003 to 2005 before moving splitting time with The Gardens Ice House in Laurel, Maryland, in 2006. Boston Junior Rangers
The Boston Junior Rangers are a Junior A ice hockey organization playing in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. The team plays in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). History The initial founder and owner Mike Addesa is a former NCAA Division I ice hockey head coach at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Addesa founded the team as the Boston Bulldogs playing out of Salem, New Hampshire. At the end of the 2011–12 season the franchise was sold and relocated to become the Boston Jr Rangers. In 2017, the league re-branded, dropping the Premier name from their top division and renamed the Elite Division to Premier. The organization also operates a team in the EHL-Premier Division and numerous youth division teams. The Premier Division team was formerly in the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League (MetJHL) and won the league championship in the 2014–15 season, its last season in the league, before joining the EHL-Elite Division. Connecticut () is the southernmost state in the New England region of the Northeastern United States.
