Phil Palmesano
Philip A. Palmesano (born April 25, 1969) is an American politician and member of the New York State Assembly. He represents the 132nd Assembly District which includes parts of Steuben County, New York, Steuben, Seneca County, New York, Seneca and Chemung County, New York, Chemung counties and all of Schuyler County, New York, Schuyler and Yates County, New York, Yates counties. Palmesano was born in the city of Hornell, New York, and graduated from Hornell High School in 1987. He earned a bachelor's degree in political science from St. Bonaventure University in 1991. After college he worked as an aide to several federal and state lawmakers including former State Assembly members Donald Davidsen and Jim Bacalles, who both represented parts of the district that Palmesano now represents. He worked as the district director for former Congressman Randy Kuhl in 2004 before joining the staff of former New York State Senate, State Senator George Winner. New York State Senate
The New York State Senate is the upper house of the New York State Legislature; the New York State Assembly is its lower house. Its members are elected to two-year terms; there are no term limits. There are 63 seats in the Senate. Partisan composition The New York State Senate was dominated by the Republican Party for much of the 20th century. Between World War II and the turn of the 21st century, the Democratic Party only controlled the upper house for one year. The Democrats took control of the Senate following the 1964 elections; however, the Republicans quickly regained a Senate majority in special elections later that year. Joseph D. Morelle ( ; born April 29, 1957) is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for New York's 25th congressional district since 2018. A Democrat, he was formerly a member of the New York State Assembly representing the 136th Assembly district, which includes eastern portions of the City of Rochester and the Monroe County suburbs of Irondequoit and Brighton.
