Phil Graham (Australian Rules)
Phillip Graham (born 4 January 1961) is a former Australian rules football player who played for Central District Football Club in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). Early life and family Phillip Graham, an Aboriginal Australian man, was born on 4 January 1961. He grew up in Point Pearce on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. His father was Bradley Graham, who also played Aussie rules, winning a Mail Medal in the Mid North. Bradley's father was Cecil Graham, and football "was always a big part of family life". Cecil was a descendent of Kudnarto, a Kaurna woman famous for having made legal history by being the first Aboriginal Australian woman to marry a European settler in the colony of South Australia in 1848. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The primary methods are kicking, handballing and running with the ball. Australian Football League
The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football. Through the AFL Commission, the AFL also serves as the sport's governing body and is responsible for controlling the laws of the game. Originally known as the Victorian Football League (VFL), it was founded in 1896 as a breakaway competition from the Victorian Football Association (VFA), with its inaugural season commencing the following year. The Indigenous All-Stars (known as for sponsorship reasons Qantas Kickstart Indigenous All-Stars and formerly known as the Aboriginal All-Stars) is an Australian rules football team composed of players that identify as Indigenous Australian or with an indigenous culture. Greg Phillips
Greg Phillips (born 26 March 1959) is a former Australian rules football player who played for the Port Adelaide Football Club in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) and Collingwood Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He also played 20 interstate matches for South Australia. Michael Graham (footballer)
Michael W. Graham (born 11 January 1952) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) and St Mary's in the Northern Territory Football League (NTFL) during the 1970s and 1980s. A half forward flanker nicknamed "The Flash" for his great speed, Graham made his SANFL debut for Sturt in 1971 and went on to play 282 games over fifteen seasons. He was a premiership player in 1974 and 1976, and represented South Australia in Interstate Football on eleven occasions. He is cap number 757 for the Sturt Football Club. Graham played with St Marys in the NTFL during the summers, winning the Nichols Medal in 1973-74 for the league's best and fairest player.
