Phil Byrne (hurler)
Phillip Byrne (10 April 1874 – 12 January 1946) was an Irish hurler who played for the Tipperary senior team. Byrne made his first appearance for the team during the 1895 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen at various times until his retirement after the 1904 championship. During that time he won four All-Ireland All-Ireland (sometimes All-Island) refers to all of Ireland, as opposed to the separate jurisdictions of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Clonoulty–Rossmore GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the parish of Clonoulty and Rossmore, eleven miles from Cashel, County Tipperary in Ireland. The club is a traditional hurling club which is affiliated to the West Tipperary Board of the GAA. History The club was known as Clonoulty in its formative years and were the second winners of the Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship, in 1888. The club, in the name of Clonoulty-Rossmore had to wait 101 years for its second title in 1989 and won its third Championship title in 1997. Boherlahan–Dualla GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club associated with the villages of Boherlahan and Dualla in County Tipperary, Ireland. The parish of Boherlahan–Dualla is a large parish in Tipperary, and Boherlahan-Dualla GAA club competes in the Mid-Tipperary Division. Hurling ( ga, iománaíocht, ') is an outdoor team game of ancient Gaelic Irish origin, played by men. One of Ireland's native Gaelic games, it shares a number of features with Gaelic football, such as the field and goals, the number of players and much terminology. The same game played by women is called camogie ('), which shares a common Gaelic root.
