Phaseshifter
''Phaseshifter'' is a 1993 album by the American rock band Redd Kross. Three singles were released from the album: "Jimmy's Fantasy", "Lady In The Front Row" and "Visionary". The album peaked at number 99 on the Australian ARIA albums chart in April 1994. The band supported the album by touring with the Lemonheads. Production The album was produced by the band and mixed by John Agnello. Unlike with previous albums, Red Kross had to scramble to write or find all new songs for ''Phaseshifter''. "Crazy World" was originally recorded by Frightwig. The McDonald brothers brought on three new bandmates for the recording sessions. Critical reception ''Trouser Press'' wrote: "With the comic relief in the songs kept out of the spotlight ... it's possible to overlook the McDonalds' colorful personalities in the lighthearted songs, hearing only the catchy tunes, the Big Noise and the skilled musicianship." Redd Kross
Redd Kross is an American rock band from Hawthorne, California, who had their roots in 1978 in a punk rock band called the Tourists, which was started by brothers Jeff and Steve McDonald while Steve was still in middle school. With the addition of friends Greg Hetson and John Stielow on drums, the band's first gig was opening for Black Flag. The band has since released seven albums and three EPs. Career Red Cross In April 1979, the band had their first practice in the living room of original drummer, John Stielow's parent's living room. The first song they played was 'Annette's Got the Hits'. Other songs such as 'Cover Band', 'S&M Party' and 'I Hate My School' were also played that same first practice. Jeff McDonald
Jeff McDonald (born 1963 in Hawthorne, California) is an American singer and guitarist best known for being a co-founder of alternative rock band Redd Kross with his younger brother, Steven Shane McDonald. In the early 2000s, he played in Ze Malibu Kids, with his wife, Charlotte Caffey, of The Go-Go's, his brother, and sister-in-law Anna Waronker. In addition to music, McDonald has also acted alongside his brother and David Cassidy in the comedy film '' The Spirit of '76''. ''Third Eye'' is the third studio album by Redd Kross. It was released by Atlantic Records on September 14, 1990. It includes "Annie's Gone", which peaked at number 16 on ''Billboard''s Alternative Songs chart. The naked masked woman on the cover of the album is Sofia Coppola. The band's guitarist Robert Hecker provided vocals on "1976", doing a Paul Stanley impersonation, which led people to believe Stanley did the singing. Critical reception Alex Henderson of AllMusic gave the album 4.5 stars out of 5, saying: "While some punk enthusiasts missed the old Kross, this decent though not outstanding album proves that the band was still worthwhile at the dawn of the '90s." Steven Shane "Steve" McDonald (born May 24, 1967) is an American rock musician, best known as the bass guitarist in the Los Angeles alternative rock/power pop band Redd Kross. He is a founding member of the hardcore punk band Off! – serving as a member from 2009 to 2021 – as well as the current bassist for the Melvins. Redd is a Turkish rock band established in 1996 by tenor opera singer Doğan Duru and guitarist Berke Hatipoğlu under the name ''Ten''. They used to play at bars until they set up their own studio in 2004. Their first album, titled ''"50/50"'', produced by Levent Büyük, was published a year later by Stardium Müzik, already under the name ''Redd''. Brian Reitzell
Brian Reitzell (born December 24, 1965) is an American musician, composer, record producer and music supervisor best known for his work on many film and TV soundtracks. He is notable for working extensively with the American film director Sofia Coppola (''The Virgin Suicides'', '' Lost in Translation'', '' Marie Antoinette'', ''The Bling Ring''). Charlotte Caffey
Charlotte Irene Caffey (born October 21, 1953) is an American guitarist, best known for her work in the rock band the Go-Go's in the 1980s, including writing "We Got the Beat". Career Caffey began her musical career playing bass guitar in the early Los Angeles punk band The Eyes before joining the Go-Go's in 1978 and switching to guitar. She remained friends with fellow band member Belinda Carlisle after the initial breakup of the Go-Go's and wrote songs for Carlisle's solo albums. From 1988 until 1992, she led her own band, The Graces, with Meredith Brooks and Gia Ciambotti, who released the album ''Perfect View'' in 1989. The ''Fort Worth Star-Telegram'' is an American daily newspaper serving Fort Worth and Tarrant County, the western half of the North Texas area known as the Metroplex.
