Phase One Endurance
Phase One Endurance is a motorcycle endurance team, currently competing in the FIM Endurance World Championship. They were formed in 1985 by Russell Benney and Martin Prout. They won the Endurance World Championship title in 1993, 2000, and 2003. 2008 season Phase One Endurance secured 10th place in their class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race after a lot of turmoil and 2 crashes during the night. From starting in 15th, they worked their way up through the field to 3rd before riders James Haydon and James McBride both crashed during the night. After losing a lot of time the team managed to get back up to 10th place in their class again before the end. After a poor start to the season, Phase One Endurance achieved 4th place in both the Oschersleben 8hr race, and the Bol D'or 24hr race in which they came 8th overall. Endurance Racing (motorsport)
Endurance racing is a form of motorsport racing which is meant to test the durability of equipment and endurance of participants. Teams of multiple drivers attempt to cover a large distance in a single event, with participants given a break with the ability to change during the race. Endurance races can be run either to cover a set distance in laps as quickly as possible, or to cover as much distance as possible over a preset amount of time. One of the more common lengths of endurance races has been running for , or roughly six hours. Longer races can run for , 12 hours, or even 24 hours. Endurance World Championship
The Endurance World Championship (FIM EWC) is the premier worldwide endurance championship in motorcycle road racing. The championship season consists of a series of endurance races (with a duration of six, eight, twelve or twenty-four hours) held on permanent racing facilities. The results of each race are combined to determine three World Championships – riders, teams and manufacturers. Until 2016, the championship was held on a yearly basis, but in order to take advantage of the winter break in MotoGP and Superbikes season, since September 2016 it runs from September to July, with the European races held in September, and then spring and summer of the next year. 24 Hours Of Le Mans (motorcycle Race)
The 24 Heures Motos (often called in English the 24 Hours of Le Mans motorcycle race) is a motorcycle endurance race held annually since 1978 on the Bugatti Circuit, Le Mans, Sarthe, France. The race is organized by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) and is part of the Endurance FIM World Championship. History When the Bol d'Or moved from Bugatti Circuit to Circuit Paul Ricard at the end of 1977, the ACO created the 24 Heures Moto.
