Peđa Grbin
Peđa Grbin (born 24 May 1979) is a Croatian lawyer and politician serving as President of the Social Democratic Party since 2020. He was also Leader of the Opposition from 2020 until 2022, when he was replaced by Davorko Vidović, the leader of the newly-established Social Democrats. He has represented VIII electoral district in the Croatian Parliament since 2011. He also served as the Chairman of the Parliament's Committee on the Constitution, Standing Orders and Political System from 2012 until 2015. He was vice president of the SDP from 2016 to 2018 when he was suspended from that position. Early life, education and professional career Grbin attended elementary and high school in Pula, after which he enrolled in the Zagreb Faculty of Law from which he graduated in 2003. The Social Democratic Party of Croatia ( hr, Socijaldemokratska partija Hrvatske, SDP) is a social-democratic political party in Croatia. The SDP is anti-fascist, progressive, and strongly pro-European. The SDP was formed in 1990 as the successor of the League of Communists of Croatia, Croatian branch of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia, which had governed Croatia within the Yugoslav federation since World War II. The party first won the elections in 2000 and formed a coalition government headed by Ivica Račan. After losing the 2003 general election, the party remained in opposition for eight years. The University of Zagreb ( hr, Sveučilište u Zagrebu, ; la, Universitas Studiorum Zagrabiensis) is the largest Croatian university and the oldest continuously operating university in the area covering Central Europe south of Vienna and all of Southeastern Europe. 2016 Croatian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Croatia on 11 September 2016, with all 151 seats in the Croatian Parliament up for election. The elections were preceded by a successful motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Tihomir Orešković and his cabinet on 16 June 2016, with 125 MPs voting in favour of the proposal. The SDP Youth Forum ( hr, Forum mladih SDP-a, FM SDP) is the youth organisation of the Social Democratic Party of Croatia (SDP). 2011 Croatian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Croatia on Sunday, 4 December 2011 to elect 151 members to the Croatian Parliament. They were the sixth parliamentary election in Croatia since independence. Elections were held in 10 electoral districts inside Croatia (each electing 14 members of parliament), one electoral district for Croatian citizens living abroad (3 members of parliament), and one electoral district for national minorities (8 members of parliament).
