Enrico Pezzi (22 May 1897 – 29 December 1942) was an Italian Air Force general during World War II. The youngest general in the Regia Aeronautica, he is best known for leading the Italian Air Force in Russia, where he was killed during a rescue mission in late 1942, being posthumously awarded the Gold Medal of Military Valor. He was the brother of Mario Pezzi, also a general in the Regia Aeronautica. Giulietta Pezzi (10 February 1810 – 31 December 1878) was an Italian writer and journalist whose work included poetry, four novels, and a five-act play. Born and educated in Milan, she was a devoted follower of Mazzini and active in the Italian republican and unification movements. In her later years she wrote for several newspapers and dedicated herself to the establishment of free public schools in Italy based on Mazzini's educational philosophy. Mario Pezzi (aviator)
Mario Pezzi (9 November 1898 – 26 August 1968) was an Italian aviator known worldwide for his flight in which he achieved greater height than any other pilot in a propeller-powered airplane. Biography The future lieutenant general was born on 9 November 1898. He had one brother, Enrico, who also grew up to be a General in the Italian Air Force. Mario joined the Infantry in October 1917, and the next year earned the rank of second lieutenant. He received his pilot's license in 1926. The next year he became part of the General Staff, rising to Cabinet of the Defense Ministry in 1931. After Pezzi's record flight, he was decorated with the Gold Medal of Aeronautic Valor and promoted Colonel. Later he also became Commander of Aeronautics as well as Chief of the General Staff. Mario Pezzi (born Gottolengo, 19 September 1941) is an Italian priest, theologian and catechist. He is one of leading names of the Neocatechumenal Way, with Kiko Argüello and Carmen Hernández. Biography He entered the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus seminary in 1951, aged 10 years old. He was ordained a priest on 18 March 1969. He joined the Neocatechumenal Way in 1970, becoming a priest of their International Responsible Team the following year. He first met Pope John Paul II in 1979, together with the two founders of the Neocatechumenal Way. His work is to present a theological-pastoral view inside the NCW, where he is the leading priest.
