Detlev Peukert
Detlev Peukert (September 20, 1950 in Gütersloh – May 17, 1990 in Hamburg) was a German historian, noted for his studies of the relationship between what he called the "spirit of science" and the Holocaust and in social history and the Weimar Republic. Peukert taught modern history at the University of Essen and served as director of the Research Institute for the History of the Nazi Period. Peukert was a member of the German Communist Party until 1978, when he joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany. A politically engaged historian, Peukert was known for his unconventional take on modern German history, and in an obituary, the British historian Richard Bessel wrote that it was a major loss that Peukert had died at the age of 39 as a result of AIDS. Peukert's Law
Peukert's law, presented by the German scientist in 1897, expresses approximately the change in capacity of rechargeable lead–acid batteries at different rates of discharge. As the rate of discharge increases, the battery's available capacity decreases, approximately according to Peukert's law. Batteries Manufacturers specify the capacity of a battery at a specified discharge rate. For example, a battery might be rated at 100 A·h when discharged at a rate that will fully discharge the battery in 20 hours (at 5 amperes for this example). If discharged at a faster rate the delivered capacity is less. Peukert's law describes a power relationship between the discharge current (normalized to some base rated current) and delivered capacity (normalized to the rated capacity) over some specified range of discharge currents. Josef Peukert
Josef Peukert (22 January 1855 – 3 March 1910) was a German Bohemian anarchist known for his autobiographical book ''Memoirs from the proletarian revolutionary labour movement'' (german: Erinnerungen eines Proletariers aus der revolutionären Arbeiterbewegung). The book provided a glimpse into the early days of the radical labour movement in Austria, the start of the anarchist movement in Germany and the exile of the anarchists in London and America at the time of Socialist Law (1878–1890). The accuracy of the book was questioned by fellow anarchist and historian Max Nettlau, who looked upon it in a "highly-skeptical" manner. Wolfgang Peukert
Wolfgang Peukert (born 9 June 1958 in Karlsruhe) is a German process engineer. He won the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize in 2005. Life Wolfgang Peukert studied chemical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe and received his doctorate in 1990 at the Institute of Mechanical Process Engineering with the topic "The combined separation of particles and gases in packed bed filters". After seven years in the development department of the Japanese Hosokawa Group, he became a full professor at the Institute of Particle Technology, Technical University of Munich (TUM) in 1998. Leo Peukert
Leonhard "Leo" Peukert (26 August 1885 – 6 January 1944) was a prolific German film actor and film director, appearing in more than a hundred and fifty productions between 1910 and his death in 1944. While occasionally he played a leading role in his early years, such as the comedy '' The Happy Journey'' (1924),Grange p.164 he mostly appeared as a character actor.
