Petrópolis, Rio Grande Do Sul
Petrópolis is a neighbourhood in the city of Porto Alegre, the state capital of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil. It was created by Law 2022 from December 7, 1959. In the 1920s, Petrópolis was occupied by ''chácaras'' (little properties), where their owners would cultivate orange trees. Its development took place around a road called ''Caminho do Meio'', which connected Porto Alegre to Viamão and Gravataí municipalities, now known as Protásio Alves Avenue. The land relief of Petrópolis is quite varied, and its verdant hills attracted middle class people, which promoted its settlement. In 1937, the population increased as a result of the creation of Petrópolis tram car line. In sociology, the upper middle class is the social group constituted by higher status members of the middle class. This is in contrast to the term ''lower middle class'', which is used for the group at the opposite end of the middle-class stratum, and to the broader term ''middle class''. Érico Veríssimo
Érico Lopes Verissimo (December 17, 1905 – November 28, 1975) was an important Brazilian writer, born in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. Biography Érico Verissimo was the son of Sebastião Verissimo da Fonseca and Abegahy Lopes Verissimo. His father, heir of a rich family in Cruz Alta, met financial ruin during his son's youth and, as a result, Erico didn't complete secondary school because of the need to work. Verissimo settled in Cruz Alta as the owner of a drugstore, but was unsuccessful. He then moved to Porto Alegre in 1930, willing to live solely by selling his writing. There he began to live around writers of renown, such as Mário Quintana, Augusto Meyer, Guilhermino César and others. In the following year, he was hired to occupy the position of secretary of edition of the '' Revista do Globo'', of which he would become editor in 1933. Pan American School of Porto Alegre is an American international school in Petrópolis, Porto Alegre, Brazil. The private not-for-profit educational establishment teaches preschool through grade 12 in both Portuguese and English. It was established in 1966. Since then it has grown into an educational institute offering three programs: # Primary Years Program (PYP) # Middle Years Program (MYP) # AP Capstone Program In 2007 it moved to a new campus. Petrópolis (; ), also known as The Imperial City, is a Municipalities of Brazil, municipality in the Southeast Region, Brazil, Southeast Region of Brazil. Upper Class
Upper class in modern societies is the social class composed of people who hold the highest social status, usually are the wealthiest members of class society, and wield the greatest political power. According to this view, the upper class is generally distinguished by immense wealth which is passed on from generation to generation.
