Petros Tatoulis
Petros Tatoulis ( el, Πέτρος Τατούλης; born 6 March 1953 in Kastri, Arcadia) is a Greek surgeon and independent politician, currently serving as Regional Governor of the Peloponnese. A long standing Member of the Hellenic Parliament for Nea Dimokratia, he served as Deputy Minister of Culture from 2004 until 2006. When he became a succeedingly vocal critic of his party, he was expelled in 2008. In the 2010 elections, he was however popularly elected Regional governor of Peloponnese, and was reelected in 2014, following a reconciliation with his former party. Biography Born 1953 in a small village in Cynuria, Tatoulis studied medicine at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and worked as a surgeon in hospitals in Arcadia, Athens and Piraeus. Kostas Karamanlis served as a Prime Minister of Greece for two consecutive terms. During his incumbency, the period 2004-2009, he formed two cabinets. ''To Vima'' ( el, Το Βήμα, lit=The Tribune) is a Greek weekly newspaper first published in 1922 by Dimitris Lambrakis, the father of Christos Lambrakis, as ''Elefthero Vima'' (Free Tribune). The Panhellenic Socialist Movement ( el, Πανελλήνιο Σοσιαλιστικό Κίνημα, Panellínio Sosialistikó Kínima, ), known mostly by its acronym PASOK, (; , ) is a social-democratic political party in Greece. Until 2012, it was one of the two major parties in the country, along with New Democracy, its main political rival. Ethnos ( el, Έθνος, lit="The Nation") is the name of a Greek weekly newspaper first published in 1913. History The newspaper was first published in 1913 with a Venizelist political thesis. Always in the progressive political spectrum, it supported later Georgios Papandreou and Center Union. In 1970, during the Greek military junta of 1967-74, it was forced to stop publishing.
