Petre Mihai Bănărescu
Petre Mihai Bănărescu (born 15 September 1921 in Craiova, Dolj County – died 12 May 2009 in Bucharest) was a Romanian ichthyologist. Bănărescu was a member of the Romanian Academy. Bănărescu published around 300 papers in scholarly journals. In 1975 he was elected an honorary member of the American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists and an honorary member of the European Society of Ichtyologists in 1988. Education * In 1932–1940 attended the ''C.D. In the Melanesian mythology of Malekula Island, Vanuatu, Ambat is a culture hero recorded by A.B. Deacon. In the myth, Temes Malau has an ogress wife Nevinbumbaau and had a son Mansip. Nevinbumbaau trapped Ambat's older brothers one after another in a ditch, where they stayed until Ambat came to free them. The same brothers later tried to kill Ambat because they envied him his beautiful wife Lindanda, who learned of her husband's death when she saw blood on the comb he had left her. Gobioninae
Gobioninae is a monophyletic subfamily of Eurasian cyprinid fishes. A species-rich subfamily, it is divided into five tribes: Gobionini, Pseudogobionini, Hemibarbini, Coreiini, and Sarcocheilichthyini. To adapt to different masticatory operations, members of the Gobioninae developed various types of pharyngeal bones and teeth; some have intermediate pharyngeal bones with rows of diverse teeth (conical, compressed, and coarsely compressed), others have broad pharyngeal bones with a single row of molar teeth.
