Clifford Case (Canadian Politician)
Clifford Case, (July 17, 1897 – December 30, 1940) was a lawyer and political figure in Ontario, Canada. He represented York North in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1929 to 1934 as a Conservative member. Background Case was born on a farm in King township to parents George Case and Annie Morning. He was educated in Aurora and at Osgoode Hall, graduating in 1924. In 1923 he married Mary Dunbar and together they raised three sons. Case practised law in Aurora and Toronto and was named King's Counsel in 1929. Case died in York County Hospital at the age of 43. Politics Case served as deputy reeve of Aurora in 1928. In 1929 he ran as the Conservative candidate in the riding of York North. He defeated Liberal incumbent Peter Pearson by 195 votes. York North (Ontario Provincial Electoral District)
York North was a provincial riding in Ontario, Canada, that was represented in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1867 to 2007. The provincial riding was known as York—Mackenzie from 1995 to 1999. York, Ontario
York is a former city within Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located northwest of Old Toronto, southwest of North York and east of Etobicoke, where it is bounded by the Humber River. Originally formed as York Township, it encompassed the southern section of York County. It was split several times, creating East York and North York. In 1953, it became part of the Metropolitan Toronto federation. It absorbed several municipalities, including Lambton Mills and Weston and was eventually known as the City of York. In 1998, it was dissolved along with Metro Toronto and its constituent municipalities, amalgamated to form the current City of Toronto.
