Peter Allerton Sutton (born 18 July 1959) was Archdeacon of the Isle of Wight from 2011 to 2018. Sutton was educated at Exeter University. He held Curacies at Holy Trinity, Fareham and St Mary, Alverstoke. Curate
A curate () is a person who is invested with the ''care'' or ''cure'' (''cura'') ''of souls'' of a parish. In this sense, "curate" means a parish priest; but in English-speaking countries the term ''curate'' is commonly used to describe clergy who are assistants to the parish priest. Lee-on-the-Solent, often referred to as Lee-on-Solent, is a seaside district of the Borough of Gosport in Hampshire, England, about five miles (8 km) west of Portsmouth. The area is located on the coast of the Solent. It is primarily a residential area, with an upsurge of mostly local visitors in summer, but was also the former home to the Royal Naval Air Station HMS ''Daedalus'' (renamed as HMS ''Ariel'' from 1959 to 1965). History The district gained its name in the 19th century, during attempts to develop the area into a seaside resort. Caroline Jane Baston (born 17 October 1956) is a Church of England priest. From 2006 to 2011, she served as Archdeacon of the Isle of Wight. Early life and education Baston was born on 17 October 1956. She studied at the University of Birmingham, graduating with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in 1978 and a Certificate of Education (CertEd) in 1979. She then began her first career as a mathematics teacher, working at a comprehensive school in inner-city Sandwell. In 1987, Baston entered Ripon College Cuddesdon, an Anglican theological college. There, she spent the next two years studying theology and training for ordination. Ordained ministry Baston was ordained in the Church of England as a deacon in 1989. Peter Philip Leonard (born 6 February 1970) is a British Anglican priest who served as Archdeacon of the Isle of Wight, 2019–2022. Peter was educated at Trinity College, Bristol.
