Peter Ryan (journalist)
Peter Ryan is a business journalist working for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation as its chief business and finance correspondent. Ryan was formerly employed as the ABC's Washington bureau chief and head of TV news and current affairs in Melbourne. Personal life Ryan was educated at Marist College Eastwood, a Catholic secondary all-boys school, graduating in 1979. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is the national broadcaster of Australia. It is principally funded by direct grants from the Australian Government and is administered by a government-appointed board. The Order of Australia is an honour that recognises Australian citizens and other persons for outstanding achievement and service. It was established on 14 February 1975 by Elizabeth II, Queen of Australia, on the advice of the Australian Government. Before the establishment of the order, Australian citizens received British honours. The Monarch of Australia is sovereign head of the order, while the Governor-General of Australia is the principal companion/dame/knight (as relevant at the time) and chancellor of the order.
