Pete Rose
Peter Edward Rose Sr. (born April 14, 1941), also known by his nickname "Charlie Hustle", is an American former professional baseball player and manager. Rose played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1963 to 1986, most prominently as a member of the Cincinnati Reds team known as the Big Red Machine for their dominance of the National League in the 1970s. He also played for the Philadelphia Phillies and the Montreal Expos. During and after his playing career, he served as the manager of the Reds from 1984 to 1989. Rose was a switch hitter and is the all-time MLB leader in hits (4,256), games played (3,562), at-bats (14,053), singles (3,215), and outs (10,328). He won three World Series, three batting titles, one Most Valuable Player Award, two Gold Gloves, and the Rookie of the Year Award. Peter G. Rose (born 25 February 1939) is an American author and food historian. She has published eight books, mainly on the topic of food in colonial times, especially among the Dutch in the Hudson Valley. Rose was born in Utrecht, educated in the Netherlands and Switzerland and emigrated to the United States in 1964. Pete Rose (1942-2018) was an American recorder player, composer, and critic. He was the foremost interpreter of contemporary classical music for recorder, and one of the few recorder players to play jazz on the instrument. As a performer, his repertoire included the music of Daniel Goode, Ryohei Hirose, Luciano Berio Luciano Berio (24 October 1925 – 27 May 2003) was an Italian composer noted for his experimental work (in particular his 1968 composition ''Sinfonia'' and his series of virtuosic solo pieces titled '' Sequenza''), and for his pioneering work ..., and Benjamin Thorn. His many published works are enumerated on his web page. Peter D. Rose is an architect and educator. Rose is the founder and principal of Peter Rose and Partners, an architectural, research, and urban design practice founded in Montreal, Quebec, Canada now based in Boston, Massachusetts. Career Rose's best known work in Canada is the Canadian Centre for Architecture, which was designed by Rose with the Centre's founder Phyllis Lambert as consulting architect and Erol Argun as associate architect. Completed in 1989, the CCA received the Honor Awards for Architecture from the American Institute of Architects and the Governor General's Medals in Architecture in 1992. Rose founded the Alcan Lectures in Architecture, which ran from 1974 to 1992. Peter John Rose (born 8 June 1955) is an Australian poet, memoirist, critic, novelist and editor. For many years he was an academic publisher. Since 2001 he has been editor of '' Australian Book Review''. Career Peter Rose was born in Wangaratta on 8 June 1955, and grew up there. Rose belongs to a famous Collingwood Football Club family. His father, Bob, was a celebrated Collingwood player and coach. His brother, Robert (1952–1999), also played for Collingwood and, as a cricketer, opened the batting for Victoria. Rose was educated at Haileybury, Melbourne and Monash University. Throughout the 1990s Rose was a publisher at Oxford University Press, Australia, where he published a wide range of Oxford reference books and dictionaries. Peter Anthony Rose MBE (music) and Anne Conlon MBE (words) are British writers best known for their environmental musicals for children. They were both teachers in Lancashire, England, for the majority of their creative achievements and most of their works have been written specially for St Augustine's RC High School, Billington. At the time Peter Rose was their head of music. ''Pete Rose Baseball'' is a baseball video game published by Absolute Entertainment in 1988 for the Atari 2600 and in 1989 for the Atari 7800. Gameplay The game features a "behind the pitcher" viewpoint for pitching and batting, a viewpoint which was introduced by the classic computer game ''Hardball''. In addition, the game features different "bird's eye" views of the field depending on where the ball is hit; there are two infield views (one for each half of the infield) and three outfield views (left field, center field, and right field). Legacy When the game was re-released by Activision (who bought Absolute's video game properties after Absolute folded in 1995) for inclusion in ''Activision Anthology'', the game was renamed ''Baseball'', due to the license deal with Pete Rose having expired. Peter DeRose (or De Rose) (March 10, 1896 – April 23, 1953) was an American composer of jazz and pop music during the era of Tin Pan Alley. Biography A native of New York City, he showed a gift for all things musical at an early age. He learned to play the piano from an older sister. F.B. Haviland published his first song, "Tiger Rose Waltzes", when he was eighteen years old. After graduating from DeWitt Clinton High School in 1917, he found a job at a music store as a stock room clerk. His composition "When You're Gone, I Won't Forget" led to a job at the New York office of Italian music publisher G. Ricordi & Co. In 1923, he met May Singhi Breen when she performed on radio with the ukulele group The Syncopators. A relationship developed, and she left the group to join DeRose in a musical radio show on NBC called ''The Sweethearts of the Air'' in which he played piano and she played ukulele.
