Peter Robertson (triathlete)
Peter John Robertson (born 17 February 1976 in Melbourne) is an Olympic athlete from Australia, who competes in triathlon. Robertson, who is also known as "Robbo", entered in his first triathlon at age 16 with his mates and became hooked on the sport. Robertson competed at the first Olympic triathlon at the 2000 Summer Olympics. He took thirty-fourth place with a total time of 1:51:39.04. He competed again four years later, at the 2004 Summer Olympics. This time, he placed twenty-fourth with a time of 1:55:44.36. In 2005, racing in Gamagōri, Japan, Robertson won his 3rd ITU World Championship, and has also placed 2nd at the World Championships twice. The ITU World Championships is the second most competitive Olympic Distance Triathlon in the world, the first being the Olympics. Peter Robertson was mayor of Brampton, Ontario from 1991 to 2000. In 2000, he was defeated in the municipal election by then-councillor Susan Fennell. Background In 1970, Toronto Gore Township considered developing the community of Castlemore into a city of thirty thousand, over a five-year period. The community had the smallest population of any township within Peel, and neighboured Bramalea, a "satellite city" in Chinguacousy Township. The plan was to include developing a portion of the Claireville Conservation Area. Then an education consultant, Robertson spoke out at a public meeting on the plan, expressing concerns about possible changes to the quality of life in the area. As of a July meeting of the Peel Board of Education, Robertson was described as a "spokesman for the Castlemore residents". Peter Robertson (footballer, Born 1875)
Peter Neilson Robertson (24 September 1875 – 4 February 1929) was a Scottish footballer. Career Robertson initially played football for Polton Vale, a local club based in Loanhead. He soon attracted wider interest and played in one match for Football League First Division side Burnley in April 1895. He played his only senior match for the club on 9 November 1895 in the 1–5 defeat away at Derby County and was released by Burnley shortly afterwards. Peter also turned out around then for the well known St Bernard's club in Edinburgh. Peter though remained with Polton Vale before joining Cowdenbeath in summer 1898. Most of his family all moved through to Fife as well. That was a top quality Cowdenbeath side. He played in a Cowdenbeath team which won 4 trophies in 1899. Pete Robertson (born December 2, 1992) is an American football linebacker for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Texas Tech.
