Peter Murray-Willis
Peter Earnshaw Murray-Willis (14 July 1910 – 7 July 1995) was an English first-class cricketer. He played 29 times at first-class level either side of the Second World War, at first for Worcestershire and then for Northamptonshire. Despite his short career, in 1946 he not only won his county cap for Northamptonshire, but also captained the county on 18 occasions. A '' Wisden'' writer much later called him a "somewhat miscast captain". Murray-Willis passed fifty only once in his first-class career: making 54 for Northamptonshire against his former county of Worcestershire, in a high-scoring match at Kidderminster in July 1946. Castle Bromwich
Castle Bromwich () is a large suburban village situated within the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull in the English county of the West Midlands. It is bordered by the rest of the borough to the south east; also Sutton Coldfield to the east and north east, Shard End to the south west, Castle Vale, Erdington and Minworth to the north and Hodge Hill to the west – all areas of the City of Birmingham. It constitutes a civil parish, which had a population of 11,857 according to the 2001 census, falling to 11,217 at the 2011 census. The population has remained quite stable since then; the 2017 population estimate was 12,309. It was a civil parish within the Meriden Rural District of Warwickshire until the Local Government Act 1972 came into force in 1974, when it became part of the Metropolitan Borough of Solihull. Bill Barron
William Barron (26 October 1917 – 2 January 2006) was an English sportsman, who played football in the higher leagues before the Second World War and, along with some football, first-class cricket afterwards. Sporting career William Barron was born in Herrington, Co Durham on 26 October 1917. Before the Second World War, Barron, his first name shortened to Bill, was mostly known as a footballer, playing for Wolverhampton Wanderers (though not in a first team fixture), Charlton Athletic and Northampton Town. He was mostly a forward, but played on after the war for Northampton as a left-back. His post-war focus was on cricket: a left-handed batsman and leg-break bowler and an occasional wicketkeeper, Barron played 118 first-class games for Northamptonshire between 1946 and 1951. His first-class debut, however, came in a 1945 match for Lancashire against Yorkshire. He also played once for Sir PF Warner's XI in 1947. He died in Northampton on 2 January 2006, aged 88.
