Peter Millar is a Northern Irish journalist, critic and author, primarily known for his reporting of the later days of the Cold War and fall of the Berlin Wall. Early life Millar was born in Bangor, Co Down and educated at Bangor Central Primary School and Bangor Grammar School, then Magdalen College, Oxford, where he read French and Russian. Career Millar was hired by Reuters in 1976 and worked in London and Brussels before being sent from Fleet Street to East Berlin by the news agency, where in the early 1980s he was the only non-German correspondent. Millar also reported on the Solidarity movement in Poland before moving to Warsaw and then Moscow. Peter Millar is a retired soccer player who played as a forward. He spent nine seasons in the second American Soccer League, one in the North American Soccer League and four in the German American Soccer League. Born in Scotland, he earned thirteen caps and scored eight goal for the United States national team between 1968 and 1972. National team Millar earned thirteen caps for the U.S. national team between 1968 and 1972, scoring 8 goals (or 9 depending on the sources) during that time. He made an auspicious debut with the team by scoring a hat trick in a September 15, 1968 tie with Israel. Some records only attribute 2 goals to Millar as he and Willy Roy apparently kicked the ball nearly simultaneously which leads to the discrepancy in his stats. Peter Millar (1929 – 2003) was an American illustrator, cartoonist, and drag racer best known for his work with ''CARtoons'' and ''Drag Cartoons'' magazines. Millar often used the pen name "Millarkey". Career ''Arin Cee'' Millar's first published strip was ''Arin Cee'', produced for ''Rod & Custom'' (''R&C'') magazine beginning in 1955 and continuing into the 1960s. ''CARtoons Magazine'' Millar co-created ''CARtoons Magazine'' in 1959, which was published by the Petersen Publishing Company. The first issue of ''CARtoons'' included the story of the hot rod community as a social collective and introduced the term " Rumpsville" (referring to "hot rod heaven"). Millar worked on ''CARtoons'' until 1963, when he was replaced by ''Hot Rod'' editor and "Stroker McGurk" creator Tom Medley. Air Vice Marshal Peter Millar, (born 20 June 1942) is a former Royal Air Force officer who served as Commander of British Forces Cyprus from 1995 to 1998.
