Sir Peter Drummond Macdonald KBE (1 February 1894 – 2 December 1961) was a Canadian-born Conservative Party politician in the United Kingdom. He was Member of Parliament (MP) for the Isle of Wight from 1924 to 1959. Early life One of nine children born to Mary and Ronald A MacDonald, he was born in Gillis Lake, Nova Scotia and attended Dalhousie College in Halifax. When World War I began, he left his studies and joined the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force, 1 November 1915. He sailed aboard Metagama from St. John, New Brunswick on 1 January 1916 and arrived in Plymouth, England on 10 January 1916. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant on 1 February 1916 at Sandgate, Kent. His army registration number as a member of the Canadian Expeditionary Force was 522023. He was listed as a S. Sergeant, occupation, accountant with CAPC, 6th Division, 63 battalion. Peter MacDonald (Navajo Leader)
Peter MacDonald (born December 16, 1928) is a Native American politician and the only four term Chairman of the Navajo Nation. MacDonald was born in Arizona, U.S. and served the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II as a Navajo Code Talker. He was first elected Navajo Tribal Chairman in 1970. In 1989, MacDonald was removed from office by the Navajo Tribal Council, pending the results of federal criminal investigations headed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. MacDonald was sent to federal prison in 1990 for violations of US law and subsequently convicted of more U.S. federal crimes, including fraud, extortion, riot, bribery, and corruption. A prolific second unit director, MacDonald has worked on various Hollywood blockbusters including ''Guardians of the Galaxy, The Bourne Ultimatum, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban'', and ''The Empire Strikes Back.'' Career Starting his career in the camera department, MacDonald subsequently spent 10 years as camera operator for renowned cinematographer Geoffrey Unsworth, working on films including ''Superman'', '' The Return of the Pink Panther'', ''Murder on the Orient Express'' and ''Cabaret''. Peter Alexander Cameron Macdonald OAM (born. 29 May 1943) is an Australian medical practitioner and politician from Glasgow, Scotland. He was formerly the independent member for the Electoral district of Manly in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly and Mayor of Manly Council. Career Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Macdonald was educated in Edinburgh, the University of London (MB, BS) and King's College Hospital. During this time, he was involved with the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) and joined the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, obtaining a Diploma in Anaesthetics (DA) and a Diploma in Obstetrics (DRCOG). Peter Ian Ronald MacDonald (born 17 November 1980) is a Scottish former professional football player and coach, who last played as a striker for East Stirlingshire. MacDonald started his career with St. Johnstone, who he played with for a decade after signing for the youth academy of Rangers. It and its publishing house, Wild Goose Publications, are headquartered in Glasgow, Scotland, and its activities take place on the island of Iona, Mull, in Argyll and Bute and Glasgow. History The community began as a project led by George MacLeod, a minister of the Church of Scotland in Govan, Glasgow, to close the gap which he perceived between the church and working people. He took a group of ministers and working men to Iona to rebuild the ruined medieval Iona Abbey together.
