Peter J. Wild
Peter J. Wild (born 1939) is a Swiss people, Swiss electronics engineer and a pioneer of liquid-crystal display (LCD) technology. Biography Peter Josef Wild was born and educated in St. Gallen, Switzerland. Lenzburg
Lenzburg is a town in the central region of the Swiss canton Aargau and is the capital of the Lenzburg District. Backlit
A backlight is a form of illumination used in liquid crystal displays (LCDs). As LCDs do not produce light by themselves—unlike, for example, cathode ray tube (CRT), plasma (PDP) or OLED displays—they need illumination ( ambient light or a special light source) to produce a visible image. Backlights illuminate the LCD from the side or back of the display panel, unlike frontlights, which are placed in front of the LCD. An LCD projector is a type of video projector for displaying video, images or computer data on a screen or other flat surface. It is a modern equivalent of the slide projector or overhead projector. Passive matrix addressing is an addressing scheme used in early LCDs. This is a matrix addressing scheme meaning that only ''m'' + ''n'' control signals are required to address an ''m'' × ''n'' display. A pixel in a passive matrix must maintain its state without active driving circuitry until it can be refreshed again.
