Peter Hore (prankster)
Peter Hore is an Australian-born man best known for public stunts such as disrupting the 1997 Melbourne Cup by running onto the track during the race, interrupting a tennis match at the Australian Open, and gate-crashing celebrity funerals. During a World Cup football qualifying match between the national teams of Australia and Iran in 1997, Hore ran onto the field and cut the Iranian team's net. According to ''ESPN FC'', the resulting delay was a turning point in the match, allowing the Iranian team to "regain their composure" and go on to win. In 2007, Hore publicly told Queensland premier Anna Bligh that he would run for her seat in South Brisbane the following year. Peter Hoare (born 17 October 1961 in Bradford, Yorkshire) is a British tenor, best known for his performances on the opera stage. Career Peter Hoare learned music initially as a percussionist, gaining a place at the Huddersfield School of Music in 1979 and then Goldsmiths, London, in 1982. After graduating from Goldsmiths in 1983, he taught percussion for Bedfordshire County Council and was Head of Performing Arts at Harrow College of Higher Education in 1986/87, and playing professionally with The Hallé and the Manchester Camerata. By then singing was beginning to take over his musical interests, and he soon joined Welsh National Opera. Although he has performed many operas from the classical canon, he has made his name with his performances of 20th-century and contemporary opera. Peter G Hore FRHistS (born 1944) naval officer, historian and obituarist, served a full career in the Royal Navy (1962-2000), spent ten years working in the cinema and television industry (2000-2009) and is a successful biographer and obituarist. One of his books, ''Habit of Victory'', was the Daily Telegraph reader's choice and another book, ''Sydney, Cipher and Search'' was praised for its literary quality and depth of research and shortlisted for the Mountbatten Media Awards. Peter John Hore is a British chemist and academic. He is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Oxford and fellow of Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He is the author of two Oxford Chemistry Primers (OCP 32 and 92) on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and research articles primarily in the area of NMR, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), spin chemistry and magnetoreception during bird migration. Education Hore was educated at the University of Oxford where he was an undergraduate and graduate student of St John's College, Oxford, from 1973 to 1980. His Doctor of Philosophy degree was supervised by . Peter Merrick Hoare (29 October 1843 – 22 February 1894) was an English Conservative Party politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1868 to 1874. Hoare was the son of Peter Richard Hoare of Luscombe, South Devon and his wife by Lady Sophia Marsham, daughter of Charles Marsham, 2nd Earl of Romney. He was a J.P. for Devon. At the 1868 general election Hoare was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Southampton Southampton () is a port city in the ceremonial county of Hampshire in southern England.
