Peter Gibbs (weather Forecaster)
Peter John Gibbs (born 1958) is a former BBC Weather forecaster, who appeared regularly on BBC News (TV Channel), BBC News, BBC World News and BBC Radio, particularly BBC Radio Four. He previously worked on the ''BBC News at One'', ''BBC News at Six'', ''BBC News at Ten'' and ''BBC Breakfast''. He left the BBC on 9 December 2016. Early life Gibbs was born in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, Sunderland, and brought up in Kendal, attending Kirkbie Kendal School, Kendal Grammar School. He graduated from the Newcastle University, University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1979 with an Honours degree in Physics and Geography. He started work at the British Antarctic Survey in Cambridge. He worked at the British Halley Research Station on the Brunt Ice Shelf for two years from October 1979 where he made routine observations of the weather and helped to maintain the base. Peter Gibbs (cricketer)
Peter John Keith Gibbs (born 17 August 1944) is an English television script writer, and a former cricketer who played first-class cricket for Oxford University from 1964 to 1966, and for Derbyshire from 1966 to 1972. Early life and career Gibbs was born at Buglawton, Cheshire, and attended Hanley High School before going up to University College, Oxford. He represented Staffordshire in Minor Counties cricket from the age of 16, making his debut against Cheshire in 1961. He continued to play regularly for Staffordshire until 1965. First-class cricket His first-class career began with Oxford University, where he played from 1964 to 1966, playing three times in the annual match against Cambridge. His highest score for Oxford was 126 against Warwickshire in 1964. Gibbs made his debut for Derbyshire in 1966 after the end of the university cricket season. Peter Wyldbore Gibbs
Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Peter Wyldebore Gibbs (1 January 1934, London – 2001) was Private Secretary to Anne, Princess Royal, from 1982 to 1997. Educated at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Gibbs was commissioned into the Coldstream Guards on 25 July 1953, household position mentioned in list of honours when KCVO awarded and promoted to Lieutenant-Colonel in 1974. He became Assistant Adjutant-General London District in 1977, and his last posting was as a staff officer (GSOI) in the Ministry of Defence. He retired from the British Army in 1982 and joined the Office of the Princess Royal. Colonel Gibbs was appointed LVO in 1989 and promoted to CVO, 1995, and KCVO, 1997. Great Mull Air Mystery
The Great Mull Air Mystery is the name given by the media to the disappearance of pilot Peter Gibbs on 24 December 1975 after he took an unscheduled solo night flight from Glenforsa Airfield on the Isle of Mull in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, United Kingdom. Gibbs' uninjured but decomposed body was discovered, without the plane, on a hillside near the airfield four months later, but how and why he came to be there has never been established.
