Peter Ford (footballer)
Peter Leslie Ford (10 August 1933 – 17 July 2020) was an English footballer who played in the Football League for Port Vale and Stoke City. He later played for Macclesfield Town in the Cheshire County League. Career Ford began his career as an amateur with West Bromwich Albion, before joining Stoke City 1956. He was never able for force his way into the plans of manager Frank Taylor, and made just 14 Second Division appearances in three years at the Victoria Ground. He transferred to Port Vale, along with Harry Oscroft, in exchange for Dickie Cunliffe and £2,000 in September 1959. The club were competing in the Third Division after winning the Fourth Division title. He played 25 league and six FA Cup games in the 1959–60 season. However he was diagnosed with Tuberculosis, along with teammate Terry Miles, and spent 12 weeks in hospital recovering after the disease was fortunately caught in the early stages. Peter Ford RE, RWA (born 1937) is an English artist, specifically a printmaker. Ford was born in Hereford, England. He studied at Hereford College of Arts, Brighton College of Art, and the University of London. Since 1987, he has been the Artistic Director of the Off-Centre Gallery in Bristol. He is an Honorary Member of the Printmakers Council. Peter Newton Ford (born February 5, 1945) is an American retired actor, singer and former President and Co-Founder of Blackoak Development Company. Early life Ford was born in Los Angeles, California, the son of Canadian-American actor Glenn Ford and American actress-dancer Eleanor Powell. As a child Ford's interest in rock and roll music inadvertently contributed to "Rock Around the Clock" being chosen as the title track for ''Blackboard Jungle''. Ford graduated from Chadwick High School in Palos Verdes, California in 1962, received an Associate of Arts degree from Santa Monica College in 1966, and graduated, ''cum laude'', from the University of Southern California in 1968 with a B.A. degree in English. Peter William Ford (born 27 June 1947) is an English diplomat who served as the British ambassador to Bahrain from 1999 to 2003 and Syria from 2003 to 2006. Education and career Ford was educated at Weston Point Community Primary School, Helsby Grammar School in Cheshire and The Queen's College, Oxford. Having finished his Arabic studies he worked in Beirut, Riyadh, Paris and Cairo before being appointed British ambassador to Bahrain as well as Syria from 2003 to 2006. Retiring from the Diplomatic Service in 2006, he became Representative of the Commissioner-General of UNRWA in the Arab world. Peter Ford is an Australian entertainment reporter. He is known for his many regular live appearances on radio stations and television programs in Australia and New Zealand. Early career Ford formed an interest in the local entertainment industry while living in the Melbourne suburb of Yarraville in his youth. Peter John Ford, CBE (born 21 November 1938) was Executive Chairman of P&O European Ferries and North Sea Ferries in the 1970 and 1980s, and Chairman of London Regional Transport from 1994 until 1998. History Townsend Thoresen and P&O Ford was Chairman of Townsend Thoresen at the time of the ''MS Herald of Free Enterprise'' disaster in 1987. Following the disaster, Ford was criticised for underestimating the number of people killed in the disaster.
