Peter Duggan
Peter Duggan (born September 1993) is an Irish hurler who plays for Clare Senior Championship club Clooney-Quin and at inter-county level with the Clare senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a right wing-forward. Playing career Clooney-Quin Duggan joined the Clooney-Quin club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage levels before eventually progressing onto the club's senior team. On 15 October 2017, Duggan was named at left wing-forward but played at full-forward when Clooney-Quin qualified for their first Clare Senior Championship final in 73 years. He scored ten points, including a last minute free to secure a 1-16 to 0-19 draw with Sixmilebridge. Duggan top scored again with ten points in the replay, however, Clooney-Quin were defeated by 1-20 to 1-14. Clare Minor and under-21 Duggan first played for Clare as a member of the minor team. Clooney-Quin GAA
Clooney-Quin GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the village areas of Clooney and Quin, County Clare in Ireland. The club field teams in hurling and Gaelic Football. The club was founded in 1888 and its most notable player was Amby Power, who captained the Clare 1914 All-Ireland winning team. In 2017, Clooney-Quin reached their first county senior final in 73 years where they lost to Sixmilebridge after a replay. 2012 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship
The 2012 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 125th staging of the All-Ireland hurling championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The draw for the 2012 fixtures took place on 6 October 2011. The championship began on 19 May 2012 and ended on 30 September 2012. Kilkenny were the defending champions and successfully retained their title following a 3–22 to 3–11 victory over Galway in a replay of the final. Teams A total of fourteen teams contested the championship, including all of the teams from the 2011 championship. There were no new teams entering the championship. Laois and Westmeath were the first teams to exit the 2011 championship, however, there was no relegation play-off. Both teams contested the 2012 championship. 2012 National Hurling League
The 2012 National Hurling League commenced in February 2012. 34 GAA county hurling teams: 32 from Ireland (including Fingal but not Cavan), London and Warwickshire, contested it. On 6 May Kilkenny defeated Cork in the final to win their 15th NHL title, moving them to second place in the all-time roll of honour, behind Tipperary who have won 19 Leagues. Format The 2012 format was originally to consist of five divisions: Divisions 1 and 2 having eight teams in each, Division 3A six, Division 3B seven, and six teams in Division 4. However, this was controversially altered to a system of six divisions, with six teams in divisions 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B and 3A, and four in division 3B. This meant that many counties were effectively relegated to a lower division. Davy Fitzgerald
David Dermot Fitzgerald (born 2 August 1971) is an Irish hurling manager and former player. He has been manager of the Waterford county team since 2022, having previously managed the team between 2008 and 2011. As a player, he is widely considered to be one of the greatest goalkeepers of his generation. Fitzgerald began his hurling career at club level with Sixmilebridge. He broke onto the club's top adult team as a 17-year-old in 1989 and had his greatest success in 1996 when Sixmilebridge won the All-Ireland Club Championship. Fitzgerald's club career ended in 2011, by which time he had also won two Munster Club Championship titles and six Clare Senior Championship titles.
