Gerald Battrick (27 May 1947 – 26 November 1998) was a Welsh tennis player who reached as high as No. 3 in Britain (and world No. 53), winning at least 6 titles. Personal life Gerald Battrick was born on 27 May 1947 in Bridgend, Glamorgan, where his father was the Medical Officer. Tennis career Juniors Battrick won the junior titles of Great Britain, Belgium and France and represented Britain in the Davis Cup. In 1965 he won the French Open Boys' Singles. Pro tour In 1971 he won the singles title at the Dutch Open in Hilversum, defeating Australian Ross Case in the final in three straight sets, and the British Hard Court Championships in Bournemouth where he won the final against Željko Franulović in four sets. José Edison Mandarino (born March 26, 1941) is a former tennis player from Brazil. Mandarino was born in Jaguarão. He reached the junior finals of the 1959 French Championships, defeated by German Ingo Buding. He played 109 matches for Brazil in the Davis Cup and is considered one of the players with more appearances in this event. He won 68 (41 at singles and 27 at doubles) and lost 41 (31 at singles and 10 at doubles). In doubles, he played with Thomaz Koch as well as Carlos Fernandes. Tory-Ann Fretz (born August 8, 1942) is a former American amateur and professional tennis player who played in the 1950s and 1960s. She was ranked in the U.S. top ten from 1963 to 1966, and was No. 2 in the doubles rankings in 1965 and 1966. Career Fretz grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and played collegiate tennis at Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. She was coached by Alice Marble. In 1961 she won the singles and doubles titles at the NCAA Intercollegiate Championship. At the U.S. Nationals, she was doubles semifinalist in 1965, and reached the mixed finals at the U.S. Open in 1968.
