Peter Connolly (Australian Judge)
Peter David Connolly QC (29 September 1920- 3 May 2009) was an Australian politician and judge of the Supreme Court of Queensland. Born in Sydney in 1920 Connolly moved to Brisbane as a child. Justice Connolly went to Marist Rosalie (Marist Brothers College Rosalie) until 1934, where he before winning a scholarship to St Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace, where he was both Dux and Head Boy in his final year in 1936. Connolly served in the 2nd Australian Imperial Force between 1940 and 1946. After studying law at the University of Queensland, he was admitted as a barrister in 1949. Connolly was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in the 1957 Queensland state election for the Liberal Party. He served as MLA for Kurilpa from 1957 to 1960, but lost re-endorsement to his former campaign manager Clive Hughes in 1960; as a result, Connolly returned to the Bar, and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1963. Christopher Alaneme (1 October 1987 – 21 April 2006) was a British murder victim. He was eighteen years old when he was murdered on 21 April 2006 in Sheerness, Kent, England. The convicted killer is Peter Connolly, who was a painter and decorator of Carisbrooke Gardens, Peckham. Biography Alaneme was born at Farnborough Hospital in Orpington, London, on 1 October 1987. His parents, Gabriel and Agatha Alaneme, moved from Nigeria to live in Britain in the 1970s. He had three sisters, Maryann, 21, Jane, 16, and Grace, 12, and in their early years they lived in Bromley, south-east London. Alaneme left London to escape the violence of the big city and pursue a new life in a coastal town. He was a family friend of Kele Okereke, singer and guitarist of the band Bloc Party, who wrote their song " Where Is Home?" about his murder and dedicated it to him. Bridget Connolly
Bridget Connolly (23 May 1890 – 15 November 1981) was an Irish nationalist and republican, active during the Easter Rising of 1916 and believed to be the only person from County Carlow to be in the General Post Office, Dublin, during the Easter Rising. She also served during both the War of Independence and the Irish Civil War. Biography Bridget Connolly was born 23 May 1890 in Friarstown near Killerig, County Carlow. Her parents were Peter Connolly, a labourer, and Elizabeth Gaynor. The Connolly's left Friarstown, possibly after they were evicted, and by 1911 were living in Artane, Dublin. She attended school at St. Vincent's Convent School, Dublin, going to qualify as a school teacher. She then joined , an Irish republican women's paramilitary organisation. Peter Connolly (1 January 1868 — 1 September 1895) was a Scottish footballer who played for Royal Arsenal as a forward or full back, and later for Royal Ordnance Factories in 1893.
