Peter Collins (born 4 March 1945) is a British academic who most recently worked at the University of Salford. Early life Educated at Harrow School, he obtained an Open Scholarship to Christ Church, Oxford where he studied between 1963 and 1966 obtaining BA Hons (Second Class) in modern languages; followed by an MA (Oxon) in 1968. He studied for a second bachelor's degree at the University of London between 1969 and 1971 obtaining a first class BA Hons in philosophy in 1971. He returned to Oxford for his BPhil and Doctorate. Academic career After an early career as assistant master at Dulwich College, which he combined with his second bachelor's degree, he became lecturer/ senior lecturer in philosophy at Westminster College, Oxford and philosophy a tutor at the Open University between 1972 and 1975. Captain Peter Edward James Collins, (born 10 May 1947) was the Leader of the Opposition in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 4 April 1995 to 8 December 1998. Early years Peter Collins was born the eldest son of Ronald and Mavis Collins. He was educated at Marist College Kogarah, Saint Patrick's, Bathurst and Waverley College from 1960 to 1964. From 1965 to 1972 Collins was a student at the University of Sydney, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Laws and residing at St John's College. Peter Collins (Victorian Politician)
Peter Charles Collins (born 7 October 1941) is an Australian politician. He was a Liberal Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1976 to 1982, representing the electorate of Noble Park. He served as secretary to Cabinet from 1981 to 1982. Collins was born in Bowness-on-Windermere in England, and he attended Tiffin Boys Grammar School in Kingston. He worked as a dry cleaning salesman, labourer, and in a plastics factory prior to migrating to Australia, and was involved in the first wave of the Ban the Bomb marches. He migrated to Australia in 1963, and worked as an encyclopedia salesman and then as a used car salesman from 1965 to 1972. Peter Collins ( ga, Peadar Ó Coileáin) is an Irish sportscaster for national broadcaster Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ). Peter Gwilym Collins (born 13 May 1958) is a British Roman Catholic priest. On 11 October 2022 he was appointed by Pope Francis as Bishop of East Anglia, replacing Alan Hopes. Peter John Collins (born 29 November 1948) is a former professional footballer who played for Chelmsford City, and Tottenham Hotspur. Career Born in Chelmsford to parents William and Barbara, Collins attended Moulsham Primary School before moving up to Moulsham Secondary School and resided within Westlands. Collins left school at 14 to join Crompton Metal Workers as an apprentice and whilst playing for the Saturday and Sunday football team he was spotted by the local football club, Chelmsford City and joined as an apprentice in 1965. During his time at Chelmsford he quickly became recognised as a developing talent and started to appear in the first team in 1967. Peter Collins (1941 – 24 October 2015) was an English pipe organ builder based in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. He specialised in tracker action organs. Collins was an advocate of computer-aided design, using it to produce compact instruments and to control material costs. Collins founded his company in 1964. Prior to that, he worked in another established organ building firm. He built organs varying in size from one stop to over 50 stops. The company entered a creditors voluntary liquidation on 20 January 2017. Organs in the UK Examples are to be found in the UK including Greyfriars Kirk, Edinburgh; St Peter Mancroft, Norwich; Orford parish church (formerly at the Turner Sims Concert Hall, Southampton)), and Fitzwilliam College Chapel, Cambridge. Peter John Collins (6 November 1931 – 3 August 1958) was a British racing driver. He was killed in the 1958 German Grand Prix, just weeks after winning the RAC British Grand Prix. He started his career as a 17-year-old in 1949, impressing in Formula 3 races, finishing third in the 1951 Autosport National Formula 3 Championship. Early life and racing career Born on 6 November 1931, Collins grew up in Mustow Green, Kidderminster, Worcestershire, England. The son of a motor-garage owner and haulage merchant, Collins became interested in motor vehicles at a young age. Peter Spencer Collins MBE (born 24 March 1954) is a former speedway rider who spent his whole career (1971–1986) with the Belle Vue Aces, the team he supported as a child. The only other club he rode for was the now defunct Rochdale Hornets (Belle Vue's nursery team), with whom he spent the first season of his career on loan. Team Lotus was the motorsport sister company of English sports car manufacturer Lotus Cars.
