Peter C. Sutton
Peter Campbell Sutton (born March 30, 1949 in Boston) is an American art historian. A specialist on seventeenth-century Dutch art, Sutton served as the Susan E. Lynch Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Bruce Museum of Arts and Science from 2001 to 2019. Career Born to Francis Xavier and Jacqueline Young, Sutton was born in Boston, but was raised in Washington, Connecticut. He graduated from The Frederick Gunn School in 1968. Sutton would then receive his Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University in 1972, and both a Master of Arts and a Doctor of Philosophy from Yale University in 1975 and 1978, respectively. He became a specialist on seventeenth-century Dutch art and has written extensively on the subject, especially on the artist Pieter de Hooch, which was the subject of his doctoral dissertation. John Walsh (art Historian)
John Joseph Walsh Jr. (born 1937 in Mason City, Washington) is an American art historian, curator and museum director. He served as director of the J. Paul Getty Museum from 1983 to 2000, supervising the planning and completion of the Getty's Richard Meier-designed Getty Center and transforming the Getty's art collection through new acquisitions. Walsh graduated from Yale University in 1961, where he was a member of Skull and Bones. Walsh earned a Ph.D. from Columbia University.
