Peter James Byrne (29 January 1928 – 14 May 2018) was an English actor and director. He was born in West Ham, Essex; his father was a musician. He was educated at grammar school and trained as an actor at the Italia Conti Stage School. He made his name by playing George Dixon's son-in-law Andy Crawford in the long-running BBC Television serial ''Dixon of Dock Green'' for twenty years from 1955. He was Director of Productions for the Bournemouth Theatre Company (1965–66). Stage appearances included '' Boeing Boeing'', ''There's a Girl in My Soup'', '' Double Edge'', ''The Unexpected Guest''. Films include ''Reach for the Sky'' and ''Carry On Cabby''. TV appearances included ''Mutiny at Spithead'', ''The New Canadians'' and more than 300 appearances in ''Dixon of Dock Green''. He also made many appearances in pantomime. Peter Byrne (13 June 1892 – 16 March 1974) was a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly. Early life Byrne was born at Myola, Queensland, the son of Peter Byrne Snr and his wife Mary (née McCoy). He was educated at the Mareeba State School and then attended Nudgee College in Brisbane. On leaving school he found work at the Chillagoe smelters before becoming a canegrower in Tully from 1925. He was also a tax agent and, during the 1930s, helped many farmers who had been declared bankrupt get back on their feet again.Motion of Condolence

Peter John Byrne (born July 24, 1951) is an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who has been serving as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of New York since 2014. Biography Early life Peter Byrne was born on July 24, 1951, in Manhattan, the son of John and Dorothy Byrne. He grew up in Stuyvesant Town in Manhattan and attended Immaculate Conception School Elementary School in Manhattan and Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx. Bryne earned a bachelor's degree from Fordham University in New York City in history and social studies. In 1974, Byrne entered St. Joseph's Seminary in Yonkers, New York. Peter James Byrne (born 9 June 1954) is an English recording artist, and lead singer for the pop/ new wave duo Naked Eyes, during the earlier years of the 1980s. He is well known for his 1983 cover version of "Always Something There to Remind Me". He achieved further hits also writing his own songs, including "Promises, Promises" which also made it to the higher reaches of the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot 100 record chart. Byrne's music partner Rob Fisher later became a part of Climie Fisher, alongside another singer, Simon Climie. Fisher died in 1999, following surgery. Both friends were formerly a part of the short-lived group Neon, with Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith of Tears for Fears fame.
