Peter Bosa
Peter Bosa (May 2, 1927 – December 10, 1998) was a Canadian politician. He was a Senator from 1977 to 1998. Born in Friuli, Italy, he immigrated to Canada in 1948. He started working in his father's clothing shop as an apprentice cutter. He later became an insurance executive. He was an alderman for the City of York for seven years. In 1977, he was appointed to the Senate representing the senatorial division of York-Caboto, Ontario. He served until his death in 1998. He served as a president of Toronto Italia, and was one of the founders of the Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League. The Senate of Canada (french: region=CA, Sénat du Canada) is the upper house of the Parliament of Canada. Together with the Crown and the House of Commons, they comprise the bicameral legislature of Canada. The Senate is modelled after the British House of Lords with members appointed by the governor general on the advice of the prime minister. In archival science, a fonds is a group of documents that share the same origin and that have occurred naturally as an outgrowth of the daily workings of an agency, individual, or organization. An example of a fonds could be the writings of a poet that were never published or the records of an institution during a specific period. Fonds are a part of a hierarchical level of description system in an archive that begins with fonds at the top, and the subsequent levels become more descriptive and narrower as one goes down the hierarchy. The level of description goes from fonds to series to file and then an item level. However, between the fonds and series level there is sometimes a sub-fonds or sous-fonds level and between the series to file level there is sometimes a sub-series level that helps narrow down the hierarchy. The Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League was a soccer league in Canada. The league operated for six seasons from 1961 to 1966 across four cities in two Canadian provinces and one American state. In the 1960s, the Eastern Canada Professional Soccer League was one of four major leagues in Canadian soccer alongside the Pacific Coast League, the Western Canada Soccer League, and the National Soccer League of Ontario/Quebec.
