Peter Joseph Beck is a New Zealand entrepreneur and founder of Rocket Lab, an aerospace manufacturer and launch service provider. Before founding the company, Beck worked in various occupations and built rocket-powered contraptions. Early life Beck grew up in Invercargill, New Zealand with two brothers: Andrew and John. His father, Russell Beck, was a museum and art gallery director and gemologist, and his mother was a teacher. As a teenager, he spent time turbocharging an old Mini and launching water rockets. Beck has never attended university. In 1995, Beck become a tool-and-die-maker apprentice at Fisher & Paykel company. While working there, he self-taught himself and used the company workshop to experiment with rockets and propellants. Using these tools and materials, he created a rocket bike, rocket-attached scooter, and a jet pack. Since 2019, he has been a member of the Bürgerschaft of Bremen Life and politics Beck was born in 1967 and became a police officer. After the 2019 Bremen state election, he became member of the Bürgerschaft, the Breman state parliament. In September 2019, he became the chairman of his party in the state of Bremen after the resignation of Frank Magnitz. Peter Beck (born 1952) is a former Republican member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 54th District from 2009 to 2014. Career A U.S. Marine Corps veteran and graduate of the University of South Florida, Beck was the audit manager for the firm Donohoo, Cupp & Beck until he left in 2012. Prior to his service in the House, Beck served as Mason's mayor from 2003 to 2005 and served on Mason City Council from 1999 to 2003. Peter J. Beck (born 1948) is an Anglican priest in New Zealand. He was the dean of ChristChurch Cathedral in Christchurch from 2002 until December 2011 when he resigned to contest a vacancy on Christchurch City Council in a 2012 by-election. Born in England, Beck has been in New Zealand since 1981 and served in various positions in the Diocese of Auckland before moving to Christchurch. He knew the late Sir Edmund Hillary from his time in Auckland, is a board member of the Hillary Institute and spoke at the state funeral of Hillary in 2008.
