Peter Beck (born 1967) is a German politician for the Liberal Conservative Reformers. Since 2019, he has been a member of the Bürgerschaft of Bremen Life and politics Beck was born in 1967 and became a police officer. After the 2019 Bremen state election, he became member of the Bürgerschaft, the Breman state parliament. In September 2019, he became the chairman of his party in the state of Bremen after the resignation of Frank Magnitz. Liberal Conservative Reformers
The Liberal Conservative Reformers (german: Liberal-Konservative Reformer, LKR) is a centre-right to right-wing political party in Germany which was known from July 2015 to November 2016 as ALFA. The party was established in July 2015 as a split from the Alternative for Germany (AfD) led by former AfD spokesman Bernd Lucke. It was founded as the ''Alliance for Progress and Renewal'' (''Allianz für Fortschritt und Aufbruch'', ALFA), but changed its name in November 2016 after litigation with the anti-abortion organization "Aktion Lebensrecht für Alle" (Action Right to Live for Everybody) which uses the same acronym. The party was initially represented by five MEPs in the European Parliament (as members of the European Conservatives and Reformists group) and three members of the Bürgerschaft of Bremen due to their formal withdrawal from the AfD. The Bremische Bürgerschaft (State Parliament of Bremen, literally “Bremish Citizenry” or “Citizenry of Bremen”) is the legislative branch of the Bremen (state), Free Hanseatic City of Bremen in Germany. The state parliament elects the members of the Senate (executive), exercises oversight of the executive, and passes legislation. It currently consists of 83 members from seven parties. The current majority is a coalition of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, Social Democratic Party, Alliance '90/The Greens and The Left (Germany), The Left (Die Linke), supporting Mayor and Senate president Andreas Bovenschulte. Bremen (), officially the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen (german: Freie Hansestadt Bremen; nds, Free Hansestadt Bremen), is the smallest and least populous of Germany's 16 states. It is informally called ("State of Bremen"), although the term is sometimes used in official contexts. The state consists of the city of Bremen and its seaport exclave, Bremerhaven, surrounded by the larger state of Lower Saxony in northern Germany. Geography The state of Bremen consists of two non-contiguous territories. Frank Rüdiger Heinrich Magnitz (born 29 June 1952) is a German politician from the Alternative for Germany (''Alternative für Deutschland'', AfD) party. Magnitz has been a Member of the Bundestag from 2017 to 2021. Biography Magnitz was born in Neuenkirchen in the district of Diepholz in Lower Saxony. He has qualifications in banking and teaching, has worked for Bremen social services and founded a commercial construction company, and is a property manager and estate agent. Political career Originally a German Communist Party member, he joined the AfD in 2013, the year it was founded, largely over anti-Muslim and anti- euro sentiments. 2019 Bremen State Election
The 2019 Bremen state election was held on 26 May 2019 to elect the members of the Bürgerschaft of Bremen, as well as the city councils of Bremen and Bremerhaven. The election took place on the same day as the 2019 European Parliament election. The opposition Christian Democratic Union (CDU) became the largest party in the Bürgerschaft, while the Social Democratic Party (SPD) fell to second place. The Greens and The Left also recorded small upswings. Despite winning a narrow plurality, the CDU was opposed by a left-wing majority in the Bürgerschaft. Incumbent Mayor Carsten Sieling resigned after the election, and was succeeded by fellow SPD member Andreas Bovenschulte, who formed a three-party coalition government between the SPD, Greens, and Left.
