Peter Barrett designed and provided the artwork for a set of United Kingdom postage stamps depicting dogs in 1979. A commemorative first day cover was also brought out. Illustrations Peter Barrett's career as an illustrator took off after writing and illustrating a three-book series for very young children, along with his wife Susan Barrett. Published by Ward Lock, the books (The circle Sara drew, The square Ben drew, The line Sophie drew) became very popular. Barrett subsequently concentrated on animal art and illustrations, illustrating numerous children's non-fiction books, specializing in dogs, horses and dinosaurs. His illustrations for ''Birdwatcher's Diary'', by ''Roger Lovegrove'', in 1982 drew critical acclaim. A biographical perspective of his work was published in 1986 by his wife Susan Barrett titled "Travels with a wildlife artist: the living landscape of Greece". Peter Barrett (bishop)
Peter Francis Barrett (8 February 1956 – 28 October 2015) was the Bishop of Cashel and Ossory in the Church of Ireland from 2002 to 2006. Life Barrett studied at Trinity College Dublin and trained for ordination at the Church of Ireland Theological College. He was ordained deacon in 1981 and priest in 1982. Barrett, previously Dean of Waterford from 1998 to 2002, was elected as Bishop of Cashel and Ossory in the Church of Ireland on 4 November 2002 and consecrated at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin on 25 January 2003. He resigned in 2006 following the breakdown of his marriage. He moved to England for a few years but eventually returned to Ireland. His former wife, Anne, is a social worker with a health agency. They have three children, Clare, Alec and Patrick. Peter Jones Barrett (February 20, 1935 – December 17, 2000) was an American sailboat racing, sailor and Olympic champion. He competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, where he received a gold medal in the Star (sailboat), star class with the boat ''North Star'', together with Lowell North. He won the silver medal in the Finn (dinghy), finn class at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. He also competed in the Sailing at the 1960 Summer Olympics – Finn, Finn event at the 1960 Summer Olympics. Career Barrett competed in three Olympic Games and won two medals. He finished 11th in the Finn at the Naples, Italy Games 1960, won a silver medal in the Finn at the 1964 Tokyo Games, and crewing for Lowell North won the Star class gold medal at the 1968 Games in Acapulco, Mexico. Peter Barrett (3 June 1955 – 28 October 1983) was an English first-class cricketer. Barrett was born at Winchester in June 1955. He made his debut in first-class cricket for Hampshire against Yorkshire in the 1975 County Championship. He made five further first-class appearances, the last of which came against Somerset in the 1976 County Championship. In his six matches, he scored 138 runs at an average of 12.54, with a high score of 26. He made his only List A one-day appearance against Essex in the 1976 John Player League. In this match, he scored 28 runs before being dismissed by Stuart Turner. Outside of county cricket, Barrett played club cricket for Lymington Cricket Club. Peter John Barrett (born 11 August 1940) is a New Zealand geologist who came to prominence after discovering the first tetrapod fossils in Antarctica in 1967. Early life and family Barrett was born in Hamilton on 11 August 1940, and educated at Hamilton High School. He went on to study at Auckland University College from 1958 to 1962, graduating Bachelor of Science in 1961, and Master of Science in 1963. The title of his master's thesis was ''The Te Kuiti group in the Waitomo-Te Anga area : a study of structures, sedimentation and paleogeography of calcareous sediments''. Barrett married Maxine Frances Stone in 1977; the couple had six children.
