Petar Atanasov (footballer)
Petar Nikolaev Atanasov (Bulgarian: Петър Николаев Атанасов; born 13 October 1990) is a Bulgarian footballer who plays as a forward for Bulgarian Second League club Maritsa. Career Atanasov's career began at the FC Rakovski. At the age of just 16, Petar was scouted by Lokomotiv Plovdiv and he joined their youth system. Rakovski (town)
Rakovski ( bg, Раковски ) is a town in southern Bulgaria, in the historical region of Thrace. It is located in the Plovdiv Province. The town is also the centre of the Rakovski Municipality. Rakovski was founded in 1966 with the merging of three villages — General Nikolaevo, Sekirovo and Parchevich. The new town was named after the prominent Bulgarian revolutionary Georgi Sava Rakovski. Geography and Climate The town is located in the western part of the Upper Thracian Lowland, at 25 km to the northeast of Bulgaria's second largest city Plovdiv, and has an area of 5,50 km2. The Bulgarian Second Professional Football League ( bg, Втора професионална футболна лига, Vtora Profesionalna Futbolna Liga), also known as Second League ( bg, Втора Лига) or Vtora liga, is the second level of the Bulgarian football league system, below First League and above the Third League. Sixteen teams take part in the league, each playing twice against all the other, once home and once away. Most matches are played on Saturdays and Sundays.
