Villa Pesquera
Villa Pesquera is a sea-front fishing village in barrio Playa, in the municipality of Ponce, Puerto Rico. The site is one of the tourist attractions in the municipality of Ponce. Location Formerly an ad hoc group of fishermen, Villa Pesquera was re-organized and inaugurated in 1992 under the administration of Ponce Mayor Rafael Cordero Santiago. The village is located on the southern Puerto Rico's Caribbean Sea shores, on Avenida Padre Noel in barrio Playa in Ponce, Puerto Rico. The village includes a restaurant by the same name - Restaurante Villa Pesquera. Management The cooperative-style village is staffed by "veteran fishermen" and presided by Miguel Ortiz Maldonado. The village experiences double its activity during the weeks in February and March associated with the religious festivities of lent. Carlos Pesquera
Carlos Ignacio Pesquera-Morales (born August 17, 1956) is a Puerto Rican civil engineer. He ran in the 2016 New Progressive Party primary to be Puerto Rico's Resident Commissioner as Pedro Pierluisi's ballot running mate, but lost by over 70% of the vote to state representative Jenniffer Gonzalez. He is married to Irasema Rivera, an agronomist, and has one son and one daughter. He currently resides in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Diego De Pesquera
Diego de Pesquera was a 16th-century Spanish sculptor of the Sevillian and Granadan schools. Records show he was active in the city of Granada in 1563, and in Seville from 1571 to 1580. With a style influenced by the Italian Renaissance and that of Michelangelo, he may have trained in Italy. For Granada, he worked on the gate of the Sala Capitular at the cathedral and in 1567 at the church of San Pedro - he also produced the altarpieces at Colomera and Ogíjares. José Lorenzo Pesquera (August 10, 1882 – July 25, 1950) was a Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico. Early life Born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Pesquera was graduated from Provincial Institute of Puerto Rico in 1897. He attended the Keystone State Normal School in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. in 1901 and 1902. He was graduated from the law department of West Virginia University at Morgantown in 1904.
