Persepolis Athletic and Cultural Club (Persian:باشگاه فرهنگی ورزشی پرسپولیس) is an Iranian multisport club based in Tehran, Iran. It was established by Shahab Nazifpour. The club is most known for its football team, Persepolis F.C. which competes in the Iran Pro League. It also fields teams in futsal, taekwondo, volleyball, wrestling, handball, swimming, weightlifting, wheelchair basketball, judo, athletics, goalball, and chess. Persepolis Athletic and Cultural Club also owns and operates Persepolis University, Persepolis TV and Radio, Persepolis Energy Drink, and Persepolis Restaurants. History Shahin F.C. (1942–1967) Shahin was established in 1942 by Dr. Abbas Ekrami, a teacher. Hamid Shirzadegan
Hamid Shirzadegan (8 March 1941 – 28 September 2007) was an Iranian football player. During his career, he was nicknamed ''Paa Talaaee'' (Golden Feet). Club career Shirzadegan started out at Shahin FC youth teams and in 1957 at the age of just 16 was selected for the senior team. He moved to Persepolis FC after Shahin disbanded due to political issues. He was known for his powerful shots, as if it could rip the goal net. International career Shirzadegan debuted for Iran on December 8, 1959 against India. He scored 9 goals in 14 games for Iran, thus giving him an excellent goal scoring rate. Jafar Kashani
Jafar Ashraf Kashani ( fa, جعفر اشرف کاشانی, March 21, 1944 – October 2, 2019) was an Iranian football player. He was scouted by Abbas Ekrami, Shahin F.C.'s founder when he was 16. After Shahin's dissolution, he joined Persepolis F.C. and played until 1974 when he was captain. Then he was employed by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and worked in embassies in Germany and UAE. Homayoun Behzadi
Homayoun Behzadi (20 June 1942 – 22 January 2016) was an Iranian footballer and coach. He usually played as a striker. Early life He was born on 4 January 1942 in Khorramabad, Lorestan Province. Behzadi first broke into the Shahin side when he was only 16 years old. He played for Shahin until 1966, when due to financial problems Shahin FC dissolved. He is graduated in Persian language. Amir Masoud Boroumand ( fa, امیرمسعود برومند; 12 November 1928 – 8 March 2011) was an Iranian footballer who played as a striker. He was the Iran national team's captain during the 1950s. Club career In 1945, Boroumand he started his club career with Shahbaz, the third team of Shahin. The following year, he became a reserve player for Shahin, before becoming a starter in 1947. He stayed at the club until 1958. Parviz Dehdari ( fa, پرویز دهداری) (March 21, 1935 – November 23, 1992) was an Iranian football player and coach. Early life He was born on 21 March 1935 in Marvdasht from an Abadani family.
