Pernell Davis
Pernell Davis (born May 19, 1976) is a former American football defensive tackle who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Philadelphia Eagles for one season. He attended West End High School in Birmingham, Alabama. He recorded 80 tackles and eight sacks as a junior, and earned all-state honors. He suffered an ankle injury during his senior year, which hampered him throughout the season. Despite this, he earned ''Parade'' All-America honors in 1995. Following graduation, he played college football for the University of Alabama at Birmingham on a scholarship. Davis was drafted by the Eagles in the seventh round of the 1999 NFL Draft and played in two games for the team in 1999. He was allocated to the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europa in 2000, but suffered a broken leg in the final regular season game against Berlin Thunder. Davis missed the entire 2000 season. Pernell McPhee
Pernell McPhee (born December 17, 1988) is an American football outside linebacker who is currently a free agent. He was drafted by the Ravens in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of Mississippi State. He has also played for the Chicago Bears and Washington Redskins. Early years Pernell attended Pahokee High School, where he was teammates with Dwight Bentley and Janoris Jenkins. McPhee only played one year of high school football and started on both sides of the ball, playing offensive tackle and defensive end. He registered 75 total tackles, including 35 tackles for loss and 19 quarterback sacks to go along with 12 forced fumbles as a senior. He helped lead Pahokee to a 14–0 record that included a 25–11 win over John Brantley's Ocala Trinity Catholic for the 2006 FHSAA Class 2B State Championship. Pernell Elven Roberts Jr. (May 18, 1928 – January 24, 2010) was an American stage, film, and television actor, activist, and singer. In addition to guest-starring in over 60 television series, he was best known for his roles as Ben Cartwright's eldest son Adam Cartwright on the Western television series ''Bonanza'' (1959–1965), and as chief surgeon Dr. John McIntyre, the title character on ''Trapper John, M.D.'' (1979–1986). Roberts was also known for his lifelong activism, which included participation in the Selma to Montgomery marches in 1965 and pressuring NBC to refrain from hiring white people to portray minority characters. Pernell Saturnino (born 23 May 1962) is a percussionist from the Caribbean island of Curaçao. Saturnino joined the band Nos Antias as a teenager and toured the world with them. As part of Paquito D'Rivera's band, he won the Best Latin Jazz Album Grammy Award in 2007 for ''Funk Tango ''Funk Tango'' is an album by the Paquito D'Rivera Quintet?, released through Sunny Side Records in 2007. Pernell Whitaker Sr. (January 2, 1964 – July 14, 2019) was an American professional boxer who competed from 1984 to 2001, and subsequently worked as a boxing trainer. He was a four-weight world champion, having won titles at lightweight, light welterweight, welterweight, and light middleweight; the undisputed lightweight title; and the lineal lightweight and welterweight titles. In 1989, Whitaker was named Fighter of the Year by ''The Ring'' magazine and the Boxing Writers Association of America. He currently holds the longest unified lightweight championship reign in boxing history at six title defenses. Whitaker is generally regarded as one of the greatest defensive boxers of all-time. Pernell ( floruit 1350), was an English healer. She assisted her physician husband, Thomas de Rasyn in their professional practice. The couple was accused of causing the death of a miller in 1350, but was freed by a royal pardon and allowed to continue their practice. Ruby Beatrice Pernell (1917 – February 4, 2001) was a professor of social work who served as a faculty member at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and Case Western Reserve University. In 1963, she was appointed social work attaché at the US Embassy in India. Early life and education Pernell was born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
