''Permanent Signal'' is the second studio album by American musician Porcelain Raft. It was released in August 2013 under Secretly Canadian. ''Permanent Signal'' was recorded at the end of 2012 with all new equipment and help from Jonny Rogoff (Yuck) on drums, Darby Cicci (Antlers) on bass and Gaspar Claus (collaborator of Sufjan Stevens Sufjan Stevens ( ; born July 1, 1975) is an American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Porcelain Raft
Porcelain Raft is Mauro Remiddi's main music project. The New York-based musician began his long, prolific career in Italy, the place of his birth, playing for small, local projects. After composing the original soundtrack for the 1997 Italian short-film ''La Matta dei Fiori'', and collaborating and touring the world with various bands, Remiddi launched his first solo recording project under the moniker Porcelain Raft, and in 2010 released his first solo EP ''Gone Blind'' with Acéphale Records. In 2011 he signed with Secretly Canadian and released the debut Porcelain Raft full-length record ''Strange Weekend'' which peaked at #33 on the ''Billboard'' Top Heatseekers Albums chart. Secretly Canadian is an American independent record label based in Bloomington, Indiana, with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Berlin. Secretly Canadian is a label included in Secretly Group, which also includes Dead Oceans and Jagjaguwar. Secretly Group includes the three record labels as well as a music publisher known as Secretly Publishing, representing artists, writers, film makers, producers, and comedians. History Secretly Canadian was founded in 1996 by Chris and Ben Swanson, Eric Weddle, and Jonathan Cargill while they attended Indiana University. The Swanson brothers, originally from Fargo, North Dakota, decided to move to Bloomington after a Billboard article painted the Midwestern college town's scene as the next Seattle and an incubator for up-and-coming bands. Stevens has received Grammy and Academy Award nominations. His debut album, '' A Sun Came'', was released in 2000 on the Asthmatic Kitty label, which he co-founded with his stepfather. The National (band)
The National is an American rock band of Cincinnati, Ohio natives, formed in Brooklyn, New York City in 1999. The band consists of Matt Berninger (vocals), twin brothers Aaron Dessner (guitar, piano, keyboards) and Bryce Dessner (guitar, piano, keyboards), as well as brothers Scott Devendorf (bass) and Bryan Devendorf (drums).
